From Hamilton County Schools' Back to School Bash to the world's longest yard sale to the FarleyCon Pop Culture and Comic Book Expo, there's plenty to do this weekend. Here's the chronology.

ARTS

— Photographic Society of Chattanooga continues its summer show at the Gallery at Blackwell, 71 Eastgate Loop. Society members have their work displayed, and prints are available for purchase. — In-Town Gallery, 26A Frazier Ave., concludes Wednesday its exhibition, "Dangerous Drawings," featuring acrylic and ink works created by artist Doug McCoy. The gallery will open "Home and Away," featuring works by guest artist Suzanne Mortimer, on Thursday; there will be an opening reception from 5-9 p.m. Aug. 9; the exhibition will run through Aug. 31. — Bobby Stone Film Series will have multiple screenings this weekend at the Walker Theatre, 399 McCallie Ave. At 3 p.m. Saturday, "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" will screen; the film is rated G. At 6 p.m. Saturday, "The Matrix" will screen; the film is rated R. At 9 p.m. Saturday, "It Follows" will screen; the film is rated R. — Barrelhouse Ballroom, 1501 Long St., will have two shows going into the weekend. At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Pickleball Project will present Folk Around, Find Out. It is a free show. — Nightfall, an outdoor summer concert series, continues for the season, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at Miller Park, 928 Market St. This week's concert will feature The Cle Elum as the opener and Okey Dokey as the headliner. An art market will open at 6 p.m., and food trucks will start selling at 6:30 p.m. There will be children's activities, including an inflatable soccer field. — Tri-State Gospel Music Hall of Fame will host a special concert and its annual induction ceremonies at 6 p.m. Saturday at Parkway Baptist, 65 Stuart Road, Fort Oglethorpe. — 127 Yard Sale, the world's longest yard sale, will take place Thursday-Sunday along Highway 127 from Michigan to Alabama. In the greater Chattanooga area, the sale's route travels from Pikeville, Tennessee, through Chattanooga to Lookout Mountain, Georgia, and down to Fort Payne, Alabama. — Lula Lake Land Trust will have its bimonthly open gate days from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at the trust's core preserve, 5000 Lula Lake Road, Lookout Mountain, Ga. Visitors will be able to view Lula Lake, the 110-foot Lula Falls and a bluff overlook. Cost is $16 per vehicle. A guided hike is also available for $40, which includes entry. — Chattanooga Zoo, 301 N. Holtzclaw Ave., will host Pirates, Parrots and Princesses from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. The event is free with regular zoo admission of $13-$18. Tickets cost less when purchased online. Children 12 and under receive 50% off admission if dressed in themed attire for the event. — Maker Day will take place from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the Chattanooga Public Library's downtown branch, 1001 Broad St. The celebration of the local maker movement will feature activity labs for a community art project, a storytelling booth, activity stations, local artists and makers as well as life-size lawn games, art-making stations and buskers outside the library along Broad, 10th and 11th streets.
