Gulf Breeze Zoo is home to 800+ animals from all over the world, including giraffes, gorillas, and rhinos. The zoo is a family-friendly adventure with great views of animals from the boardwalk and Safari Express Train rides.

What a great little zoo.. it is small, but mighty. I was fortunate enough to be able to do all the animal feedings, and I did the sloth encounter as well. The sloth encounter was short, but fun, and the keeper who took us in was knowledgeable and super friendly and fun. We got to feed the sloths, and get very close for photos and things. Feeding the budgies is a must do as well, so much fun, and a unique experience. We also fed Giraffes, camels, and the highland cows. There was a nice little park for the kiddos as well, and the train was a fun way to get off our feet. I would recommend for anyone staying in the area.

Enjoyed our trip here so much! Such a nice layout and a fun experience! You can choose to feed the animals, take a train ride, play at the playground, and eat at the Cafe! Plus they have highland cows that you can pet!! We loved it! Our favorite part was the bird sanctuary, I had to pretty much drag my kids out-they wanted to stay there all day!

Stephanie M — Google review

This was the best zoo!! The animals seem genuinely happy and are calm. Their living spaces seem very appropriate for each different species. I loved being able to feed so many different animals - even gators! For additional charge they have several close encounters that offer unique experiences and if you don't do them you can still watch others. I will be back!!

Great zoo to visit. Senior and military discounts available. Cafe on the grounds, rest rooms also. Ride the train around the Safari park, 10 minutes. See some of my photos. Have a good time!

Rob — Google review

Incredible Mother's Day! Staff was friendly. Zoo animals were active and appeared well taken care of. The weather was perfect and it wasn't crowded at all. Feed goats, sheep, giraffes, bulls, and camels. All free with price of admission minus the food. $5 for kale for the giraffes was money well spent! Don't miss the train ride! Again, free with admission. Didn't get to walk the boardwalk, but from the train, it looked like a really great reason to visit again next time I'm in Pensacola.

K L — Google review

If you're traveling to Pensacola or the surrounding areas, this zoo is a nice little place to take the kids, or even a nice little place for a date. It was so much fun and even though the zoo is a little small, it still was very intriguing to see the animals and how they were acting. They have a safari train which takes you around the back of the zoo, that was fun!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The animals were hilarious, making all kinds of noises and just doing their thing.

Nicole W — Google review

This was such a great experience for our little family. My baby loved looking at the goats and ducks/geese and as adults I enjoyed that the enclosures were very well kept and had plenty of items for the animals enrichment. It was a beautiful park, particularly the safari walk. We really enjoyed this zoo.

An excellent weekend adventure with so many animals, and so much to explore. I highly recommend getting that season pass, because then you can just pack the family up and go.Feeding the farm animals, birds, giraffes and highland cows as you work your way to the kangaroos, then splitting off to see the big cats and bears. So many animals, so much fun, truly a different experience every time.

Iron E — Google review

Absolutely worth every dollar for families. Our kids had a blast. Highly suggest feeding the animals. Make sure to save some food for the Scottish Highland cows. We ran out before them and they’re so sweet. You get close encounters with animals as well. No tigers but cheetahs and lions are present. Very cool park.

Bailey L — Google review

I was going to come here regardless, but the advertised zoo size and animal variety was extra appealing. Before I even entered, I was very disappointed seeing that I was not allowed to bring my outside water in on the hot day. They use the Florida weather and their rules to make money by forcing people to buy their expensive drinks. I was forced to purchase a drink from the vending machine for $3. Upon entering, it didn’t feel like there were as many animals as advertised. They are all pretty well spread out over the 50 acres. We spent a long time at each animal and still were there for only two hours. With all of that being said, I love how interactive the zoo is with all of the feeding and petting opportunities for a premium price you can have an encounter with premium animals. I recommend buying one of each of the food items offered because it makes the experience so fun. Do not waste all of the food on the alligators at the start because there are more animals to feed along the way. This was a great way to do something other than the beach.

P R — Google review

Absolutely awesome. We loved Gulf Breeze Zoo. Especially my 8 year old son, he had an absolute blast. We would definitely recommend this zoo to other families. The layout was great. The animals were precious and beautiful.

Meredith S — Google review

We thought it was a great little zoo and it was nice that you could interact with pretty much all the animals but, if you have more than one child, it’s expensive.Just my personal opinion but you should be able to pay one flat rate to feed ALL the animals. Not, “if you want to feed the giraffe it’s $5.00 a cub.” “If you want to feed the petting zoo animals it’s, “$4.00 a cup.” Just make a flat rate. The train ride is included in admissions but everyone wants to ride the train (that’s not that big) and only goes around every hour so the line was ridiculously long and we did not get to do the train ride.

Jessica B — Google review

We enjoyed this zoo so much. We visited mid July 2023 and there were new babies in a lot of the habitats which was exciting. The train ride is a nice feature that gives you a better look into some of the habitat areas. There’s a great variety of animals and they were all active throughout the day. We opted for the giraffe encounter and definitely recommend it. The host was so knowledgeable and so invested in her work there; it showed in the best way. Feeding those tall, beautiful creatures and learning more about their was a great experience for my family.

Cara S — Google review

This was one of the best zoos I have been to. It was worth the drive to see as many animals as they have in one area. I put about forty pictures in this review.

Michael W — Google review

This was a great trip for our family. Our 2 year old enjoyed all the animals, open area, and especially the trail ride. We easily spent 2-3 hours looking at everything and could have stayed longer.

Kyree B — Google review

So much fun for a small zoo I. Lots of cool and unique animals and a wolf I've never seen. We got to feed turtles, camels and fish. The Galapagos turtles are stunning. The ring-tailed lemurs are so much fun to watch. They also have close encounters with the rhino, the hippos, and the sloths as well as other animals for an additional cost. They have a really cool walkway built above the animals so that you can really see them and a train that runs every hour and goes around the whole park. The gift shop is a good size, with lots of picnic areas too. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The staff was very nice, answered questions and made us feel welcomed. Will gladly go again.

Shannon M — Google review

Awesome place to take the family. We went on a weekday and it wasn’t really crowded. There’s plenty of exhibits to look at and it was really nice to feed some of the animals. There’s also a lot of shade trees so you’re not baking in the sun all day like at other Zoos.

Alonso 1 — Google review

This is a beautiful zoo with a nice variety of animals. The animals looked well cared for, and had space to move around in their area. You could easily see the animals. I want to go back as we ran out of time on this visit, we had to catch our plane.

Paula H — Google review

My boyfriend and I came to the zoo while i was visiting Destin. We had a blast! Feeding the animals is only $5 extra and you get a souvenir as well. The train ride is also very awesome, and it is no extra charge. The zoo is well kept. My favorite animal is the black bear and his is the monkeys. Military discount is also a plus.

Victoria G — Google review

Really fun and cute place to go. Love the petting zoo area where you can feed the goats. The parakeet area is also soooo fun. Tons of parakeets fly on you, it’s adorable. The train is really fun too. A really great zoo overall. If you’re in the area I would deff go here.

Mal — Google review

Such a great little zoo! Actually bigger than we thought is would be. We got to feed the giraffes, ducks and parakeets :-)We recommend you ride the train too! It takes you around the back islands where you can see hippos, gorillas and lemurs! We ate at the cafe; they have good chicken sandwiches, burgers & fries. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! Follow us on social to see more exciting adventures! @SweetSouthernLiving

SweetSouthernLiving — Google review

This is probably the best Zoo experience I have ever had! They have a train that goes around the park so you can see the animals close up. You can feed the animals with a purchase of food. Everything was very clean and well directed! We enjoyed it and definitely will be back! The price for 4 adults and one 3 year old was $175 so expect to pay the price.

Courtney O — Google review

A lot to see and enjoy! Don’t let the smaller footprint fool you, so much fun! Feeding opportunities were a hit for the 5 and over 50 year olds!! The birds actually liked the giraffes food more than their seed sticks. 😂 The Siamang’s were insane … who knew the sounds they could make.A great way to spend the afternoon!!

Kathi H — Google review

We love the zoo..especially the bird cage..that is fun. One thing I would change is the train ride..during peak times ..it should be every 30mins.cant expect kids to wait an hour to be able to ride...we left without the train ride, because it's usually our last stop before we leave..but the train fills up fast.

Faithjoy F — Google review

We had a wonderful day at the zoo!! It was our first time, but I purchased a season pass so we can go as often as we like. Loved all the animals, especially the giraffes & those cute little goats!! The monkey's were fun too!!

Holly S — Google review

An adorable smaller zoo with alot to see. We really enjoyed all the feeding opportunities with Giraffe, goats, highland cows and birds. Gators were cold so no feeding in cold temps but would be fun too. Really suprised they had like 7 Giraffes or something! We didn't ride the little train but I'm sure kids would absolutely love it. Their little aviary was a riot. The birds are so friendly and inquisitive. They will land/climb all over you. We did see an occasional small child that found it scary and left crying but most people, including us absolutely loved it! Highly recommend!

Patricia T — Google review

Wonderful zoo! I love the budgie experience the most! There is a train and also food available for purchase. They have a nice gift 🎁 shop as well

Season pass member here. We love this place, we have an autistic 5 year old and he loves it every time we bring him. It helps we live less than 2 minutes away. If you're local I highly recommend the pass

Awesome! Took our pop up camper and three small kids for the weekend. Absolutely beautiful. Camping spot close to bath house. Hot showers. Austin was amazing. He was friendly and professional helped with all the little details. He guided us to a great little beach to hang for the day. We went tubing one day. Little expensive but well worth the FUN and memories. Highly recommended.

We had arranged for a small camping style cabin for two nights of relaxation for our 24th wedding anniversary. We received a phone call from the office on the morning of our arrival that the Coldwater creek had flooded and our originally booked cabin was unreachable. We were offered a full refund or a possible change of accommodations. We decided to go on and see what we could do for an alternative. When Ms Suzanne in the office found out that it was a special day for us, she placed us in the Nashville Railcar Cabin. It was absolutely beautiful and could not have possibly been any more perfect. Also in addition to the creek flood eliminating all of their River trips and Zip line attractions, we ended up having the entire acreage to ourselves for the night of our anniversary. I cannot say enough about the cleanliness and care of the entire campground as well as the friendliness of the staff. Ms Suzanne deserves the highest of praise for saving our trip and going above and beyond to accommodate us. We look forward to a return trip and experiencing more of their offerings in the future. We had the most relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable time. It was amazing! Thank you so much Ms Suzanne and the entire staff at Adventures Unlimited! Our joy was truly Unlimited!

This was my 3rd time ziplining and I had a blast! My group went with John and Andy, who knew so much about the area and could answer any question we had. They were also very helpful in calming my nerves so I wouldn't take forever getting off the platform😅 Not to mention, this activity was very cheap for what we got (9 lines for $100 per person). By far the best ziplines I've been to. Will definitely consider going back again

I wanted a place where all of my out of town guests could stay together and the Bagdad House was the perfect choice. Rustic, cozy, comfy, and well-maintained. No wifi and Verizon signal, but folks on AT&T had signal. The resort staff was helpful but left us alone to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

We did the Taste of the Tours zipline adventure on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, with Megan and Catherine. We really enjoyed their enthusiasm for the activity, and they kept us entertained and educated. Also got to be VERY close with some complete strangers (shout out to Rachel and her family for being awesome)!

So we decided to come here towards the end of the school year just before school let out so it was not busy at all. We stayed in Blueberry and it was so cozy! The location is better imo than the others but it’s all in preference. We took our bikes and took every dirt road and paved road. We hiked to the big beach which was funny because my kids got scared and the camera was acting up with them appearing as ghosts 😂 the cabins have the whole kitchen setup with dishes and cookware so cooking was easier than the primitive camping. They have a store with basically anything you’ll need in case you forget. The history was interesting and they have pictures with info right outside the store and the zip lining was so fun. It’s hot though with lots of stairs so take water and the bugs are so annoying so take some bug spray. Lastly our zip line guides were so amazing and fun! Thanks Axel and Megan 😊

Edited to include some photos of my favorite highlights of the AUOC venue! We recently had our wedding and reception at AUOC. We utilized the Coldwater Creek Chapel, the Blue Heron Room, Bridal Suite, and prep kitchen; and we stayed in Granny Peaden cabin. It is an absolutely beautiful backdrop for such an event. The cost was fair, the facilities are gorgeous, and my interaction with the staff was pleasant. Tiffany was awesome!! She was so helpful and IMO is truly an asset to AUOC. She was so helpful throughout the entire process from being transparent and responsive during the planning all the way to execution of events. They were so patient with us—let’s face it, no matter how much planning goes in to an event like this it WILL BE chaotic—and their patience did not go unnoticed! Our day was everything we hoped it would be, and if I had it to do all over again, I would 100% pick Adventures Unlimited <3Will update review with photos just as soon as I get the professional photos back!!

I work a side gig as a DJ for Boogie Inc and I always bring my camera along to capture some photos to use to promote Boogie Inc and my wedding photography services. When my boss told me I would be DJing a wedding at Adventures Unlimited, I looked at her kind of sideways because I didn't know AV hosted events. The wedding and reception were both held outside and were absolutely beautiful! The staff were very friendly and helpful to me and my partner. We played music well into the night and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I look forward to the day when I'm booked as a wedding photographer at Adventures Unlimited in the future.

Did the Ultimate Double Zip adventure. Katherine and Colton were our guides for the adventure, and did an excellent job! The camp store had a variety or items that were good quality, not the cheap stuff you find in a a lot of camp stores. We will definitely use them again if we are back in the area.

Got2av8 9 — Google review

I had my wedding and reception here early December 2022. We had booked the venue early 2022. This is a very beautiful venue. Both the dias and the reception barn. However, this place is not accommodating to couples at all. Each room in the reception barn, including the "kitchen" and the bridal room, are separate expenses. This is a gouging opportunity and they took it. We were able to ask for an additional hour the night before to set up for our wedding AND reception. Per the contract you're really only allowed ONE. We were allowed the extra hour if we "didn't require air conditioning while setting up." You're given a total of 12 hours on your wedding day from start to finish.. which also is a squeeze when you're planning and preparing a wedding for 150+ people. Let me just say the staff is wonderful as I know this is not their rules that they're adhering to. During my reception, one of the staff members came and turned the overhead lights off because, "they're not supposed to be on." We received an email TWO days before my wedding saying that the warming oven in the kitchen was not working.. but no discount offered. There is no ice machine so you have to bring coolers upon coolers filled with ice and just hope that it's enough. We rented a cabin, Osprey, the night before and the night of our wedding and it was so awful that we didn't even stay the night of the wedding. The bed was terrible. There were bugs falling on us while we slept and many other critters through out the cabin. I understand that this is in the middle of the woods and can be expected, but I want to warn others who may also have bug phobias. They are accommodating as far as allowing you to take pictures with your photographer at the other venue sites/locations which was wonderful. But I would 10/10 not recommend this place to hold your wedding. It's obvious throughout your whole experience that money is and object/issue.

Aquarium

Nature & Parks

Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park is a marine park that offers dolphin encounters and shows with sharks, rays and dolphins. It's been open since 1955 and is popular with families.

I use to go here when I was a child. Now I was able to share this experience with my wife. We had a wonderful day and really enjoyed the shows. Seating to shows starts 30 minutes before show, so go early if you want a seat as they fill up fast. They are currently constructing an new dolphin oasis, but they still have the original dolphin tank, so you still get to see these adorable creatures! The tank has 2 levels below the water where you can watch the dolphins frolic from below. Food prices are VERY reasonable, especially for an attraction. I’m talking $7 for 5 chicken fingers reasonable. There was lots of shade and beautiful ocean views. The sharks were humongous! They run a rehab facility where they rescue and rehabilitate sea turtles to be returned to the wild. The parking lot was being worked on/ expanded when we were there, so parking was a bit of a challenge.

Craig R — Google review

We enjoyed our time at the Gulfarium! It was extremely packed for a beautiful day and the entrance was a little confusing on where to go to see everything but once we got the hang of it it was quite enjoyable. The dolphin show was amazing. The sea lions were so funny! The store was full of all kinds of memorabilia from your trip. We highly recommend taking your kids to see this!

Jessica C — Google review

Pretty neat place to visit. Nice to see that they are expanding. The Sea Lion show was closed when we went so while that was a disappointment, they did give you 20% off the admission price. They also offer a military discount. They have a lady taking your picture when you first arrive and I think she should explain that it is so you can purchase them photo shopped into a variety of backgrounds. Was happy they offer food to buy. We would of liked to purchase a animal encounter but they only offered 2 different times and we would of had to stay hours until the 2nd time. Good place to take kids.

Nicole D — Google review

Admission was pricer than tI thought it would be, but honestly well worth it. Their dolphin show was awesome. They obviously care very much for the animals there. They even have a separate area for rescued turtles where you can see them getting care in their tanks. I think they do a lot to really drive home that we need to share the area and take care of the animals around us. I appreciated that a lot. There is a good variety of things to see here and you can plan on staying at least 3 hours if not more. Definitely stop by and support this place and what they do.

Alexander M — Google review

It’s a small size facility. They made it nice and interesting. Great for educational purposes and spend 1 hour and 30 minutes with your kid without much work.Their show was nice.I would recommend to bring a jacket if you come during a colder weather because most of the visit will be outside.

Ryo S — Google review

We had an absolutely fantastic experience! The location is unparalleled, nestled right by the ocean with breathtaking views of the beach. The dolphin show was an absolute highlight, leaving us in awe of these magnificent creatures. Sitting in the splash zone added an extra layer of excitement and fun to the experience. Our encounters with the Harbor Seals and Penguins were beyond memorable, offering a unique opportunity to interact closely with these incredible animals. The staff were friendly, also incredibly knowledgeable, enriching our visit with fascinating insights about the animals. Without a doubt, we highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking an unforgettable adventure!

Miranda C — Google review

This place was a nice experience. Fairly priced and took about an hour to get through, including the Sea Lion show which was fantastic! (Definitely our favorite part - we were not able to see a dolphin show due to arriving after the last show, but we were okay with that) Nice, relaxing and beautiful surroundings as well. The gift shop was pretty large and had a wide variety of souvenirs. Variety of animals as well.

Jamie W — Google review

We were told to give this aquarium a visit when we came down to Florida. I absolutely love aquariums that are rehabilitation/ rescue and release centers. It was a little pricey, but it wasn't too bad. The dolphin show was a must see and there were lots of animals out for viewing. A lot of it was outside which was super nice and we went in the off season so it wasn't crowded at all. I also liked the option they gave for donating, they provided links to Amazon lists to get medical and other supplies they need, which I definitely preferred over just sending money.

Destiny B — Google review

My child (age 7) and I had a WONDERFUL time this Tuesday! It’s a smaller more intimate experience. Definitely pick your seats early for shows if you want to be super close. Volume of show music & narration was good; not too loud but not too quiet. Bring ear protection just in case. Staff was super helpful and friendly! ADA access was more thought out than most places. Such a wide variety of species and tons of creative learning opportunities. Well shaded from sun which was a huge plus for our sensory processing. Just absolutely fabulous. The new dolphin cove is not open yet. Overall such a great leisurely experience. It was also located within a very short stroll to other places of interest.

Chelsea P — Google review

This place is wonderful. I am typically anti-zoo type experiences but this place was very cool. The kids loved it and there was lots of shaded areas to relax on a hot day. We watched the sea lion show and it was amazing! We got to see a Sea Lion break dance. We arrived early and beat the crowds mostly but I would go anytime of day. You can cool off in the underground viewing area.

I went to the Gulfarium with my family and the experience was alright. When I walked in everything felt pretty rundown and a little dirty. Walking around the entire aquarium took about 45 minutes and was most definitely one of the smallest aquariums I have ever been too. On to the positive things, the workers seem to like their job and my family had a good time. Im not an animal expert but the animals look happy and well cared. The shows the aquarium had to offer were pretty cool, not Sea World level but it was still a nice and fun experience. Definitely stop by here on your next vacation.

Anthony N — Google review

My family and I really enjoyed our visit to the Gulfarium. It was very nice. The front of the Gulfarium was under construction so the curb appeal wasn't great when we pulled up, but the inside was very nice and professional. Our first stop was to see the sea aquarium with the shark. Out kids thought it was so cool to watch the shark swim by. The tank had a lot of fish and see life in it. There were also some smaller tanks with a lion fish, sea horses, and other animals. They also had a green python--my favorite snake. We went and walked around the outdoor exhibits where we say a large pool with a ton of sting rays. We sea a tank for sea turtles, African penguins, sea lions, otters, nuse sharks, and a bunch of turtles. We walked around the sand dune habitat and saw the biggest white pelicans I've ever seen. They were huge! There were also crocodiles, alligators, and big tortoises. Our kids favorite thing to see was the new space for the dolphins and their show. They had a very fun short show where the trainers had them demonstrate some of their awesome flips and tricks. We were very impressed.Overall, we were surprised by the size of the park. We thought it would be bigger. However, it was a really nice size for our 5 and 6 year old to walk around because it wasn't too much to walk and we were able to see everything and the dolphin show all before lunch.

Steven A — Google review

It’s a nice aquarium to bring your kids, took us about 4 hours to get through everything and really going slow through it. There wasn’t as many people as I thought as the parking lot was packed full of vehicles. I will say they have some awesome fishtanks just wish they were cleaned more often and kinda look neglected but all in all not a bad experience the kids loved it

Great morning doing the Discovery Dolphin Encounter, which could have been maybe 5 minutes longer, but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The exhibits were clean and natural. The wildlife seemed happy and well cared for. The staff was friendly and helpful. I even met another Rochelle which rarely happens. She goes by Chelle. Fun day that wrapped up after the noon Dolphin show, which was touching and the beauty of the Dolphins brought a tear to my eye! Well done and please support the Gulfarium!

Rochelle A — Google review

This place had a couple really fun entertaining shows. It was worth going at least once. I think of I had young kids I'd definitely take them here. Oh course it's not a Sea World, but the staff do a really good job with answering any questions & presenting the animals. We spent over 4 hours looking around & seeing shows. It was raining on & off when we went. Most of this place is open, but they do have a lot of areas that are covered.

Cheryl T — Google review

Great dolphin show and we loved the exhibits of the fish, penguins, and sea otters. The staff were nice. The majority of the exhibits are outside, so make sure to wear appropriate clothing. The only exhibit inside are the small fishes. There was handicap seating for the dolphin show. They sell food and drinks, but their water fountain outside was not working according to the sign they placed on top of it.

Christina V — Google review

Go early to avoid the crowds! It was just ok. For the price def not enough to keep ya busy for long. Felt bad for the captive animals but that's just my animal heart.... Dolphins were the best. If you watch the show from downstairs you can see a different perspective which was pretty neat!

We had our first Family Summer vacation to Florida and I was dying to visit the Gulfarium as I had heard many great things. Admission price is $$ what you typically pay at aquariums/zoos. We did not purchase our tickets in advance as we wanted to use a coupon we got at our hotel so there was maybe a 5-10 minute wait to purchase tickets and get inside. They do have an option to purchase tickets in advance online and it seems that might be your straight in with no wait ticket. Once inside we headed for the Dolphin show first and it was beautiful. I think the dolphin show was my favorite part aside from the location. You have beautiful views on top of beautiful views. The place is literally on Fort Walton Beach so you get the beautiful view of the beach while you’re admiring most of the animals. It’s an outdoor open air facility and the setup is very easy to navigate through and very well thought out. I was happy with my overall experience and would go again but the reason for my four stars is that I wasn’t wowed. Don’t get me wrong the views were astonishing but other than that I felt as if I was at the zoo back at home.

So much fun! All the animals are so spectacular to see! Beautiful views, amazing shows, quite a soulful place to be! I celebrated my birthday here and got to be a dolphin star and experience the dolphins first hand! Everyone is so positive and helpful!

10 out of 10 recommend to go! This place was awesome and my kids stayed engaged the whole time. The dolphin show was really cool! We will definitely be going back.

This was a let down / though it has potential.3 dolphins in a very small pool - and the main dolphin pool was closed. The brochure said dolphin oasis coming in 2023 - there are 10 days left and it’s not open yet.Touching pond had no fish to touch.Sting ray tank had just a handful of stingrays. The Gators and turtles and water fowl were pretty cool.Sea lion and dolphin shows were cute.Gift shop was great but overpriced.Lots of missing habitats of birds, reptiles, and small aquariums inside.Over needs some paint, more sea life, and hurry and open the dolphin oasis.Spent some good money to take my family of five and while they had an ok time k feel like we got a wish version of what could have been great .I would be open to go again after the oasis opens

Brian S — Google review

Had a wonderful time seeing all the animals here. Food was wonderful as well. Visted on the 13th of February. Was a little cool but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. Would definitely love to visit when the weather is warmer. Will go back again.

We went for my son’s 1st birthday and we absolutely loved it. We watched the dolphin and sea lion show with just general admission and it was a blast. There’s plenty of things for kids to do. Including an area kids can touch starfish and shells in the water.

Brianna B — Google review

Although I am a long time resident, I had never taken the time to go here. Sure glad I finally took the time. It was very busy but I never felt rushed or crowed by others. The shows were timed well. It isn't a "SeaWorld " but it was very nice, the animals seemed well cared for and the place was clean. Well worth the visit. Be sure to go.

Sharon T — Google review

Worth a visit!! We had a great time watching the dolphin and sea lion shows! The penguins are adorable! They have sharks and even alligators! There were a good bit of people there but it didn't feel crowded. They also have food and drink options so you can make a day of it.Follow us on social media to see more! @SweetSouthernLiving

We watched the dolphin, seal and sea lion shows with just general admission. It was a fantastic experience and day out with my older kids. All of the exhibits were clean and the animals well looked after. Support form the local sea life and preservation is also important, and reflected by the trainers and staff. Definitely worth it!

Robin C — Google review

The shows were great!! Glass of many habits needs cleaning. It was under construction but the manatees will be a great addition! Note: we got there at 9:30 took our time, watched almost all shows and we were done by 1.

Madison S — Google review

All employees at this aquarium are super friendly and knowledgeable! The dolphin show and sea lion show are top notch! We had the kids do the seal lion encounter! They absolutely loved it and will remember for life! Pictures are super pricey but worth it if you’re on a memorable vacation. Loved seeing the animal rehabilitation tanks for the turtles

Heather E — Google review

We go to the area annually and always stop at the Gulfarium. It’s a hit for our toddler and a great way to spend a few hours if you need a break from the beach. We go during off-season so it’s never been extremely crowded. We look forward to seeing the new expansion on our next visit!

Jessica W — Google review

A great place for families with younger kids. The dolphin show was informative and fun to watch. The sea lion show was good also. There are turtles, sharks, sea fish, stingrays, alligators, and birs to see. A reptile area and a manatee exhibit if coming. Age 12 and up is $35 and I felt we got our money's worth. There are animal interactions you can pay extra for as well.

Ange E — Google review

We love visiting the Gulfarium! This trip my 2 kids encountered a penguin and sea lion. They were fascinated with what they were taught about the animal and had fun with the animal they encountered! Thank you to the staff for making the entire trip and experience memorable! From the time we walked into the building until the time we walked out every staff member was helpful and fully engaged in needs of the guests and animals. We will be back to see the manatees!

Amber G — Google review

We loved seeing the marine life. The sea lion and dolphin show are the best I’ve encountered. My son’s dream was to spend time with seals and signed up for the seal encounter. It meant everything to us. Thank you for the conservation work you do!

Wonderful treasure of the Emerald Coast. We started visiting over 25 years ago, and they keep improving the facility and the exhibits for all to experience coastal sea life. While everything else around seems to be so commercialized, Gulfaruim remains true to its mission.Even in December, there was plenty to do and see. Really appreciated the generous discount for veterans and families on that day. Crowd was probably a bit larger than normal for the time of year, everyone was courteous and kind.Looking forward to upgraded facility in future visits.

Deborah B — Google review

Cute but small. The sea lion show made it worth it. The staff and the guy who led that show were really great. And of course the cute sea lions. The dolphin area was not open to see when we went. It’s right on the beach so the views are nice. Some of the animal exhibits look kinda old and dirty which is slightly depressing.

The Destin Harbor Boardwalk is a bustling destination for bars, restaurants, souvenir shops, and tourist attractions. It's filled with shops and restaurants and has a great view of the Florida sunset.

Really great place to have fun and relax. There's so much for couples and even more for families! Food is all around you and with zip lining, rock walls, mini golf, escape rooms, and axe throwing, there's never a dull moment. It isn't the least expensive place but you should know that walking in. Lastly, hit those charters and get some rod bending action while you are out here!

Mister R — Google review

This place is pretty good! There's a lot of restaurants nearby and you can go on a boat. For the boat they can take you to scuba dive or dolphin watch and many more! This is a good place to visit in general. You can go for a boat ride or eat at 1 of the many restaurants or buy some items like toys for your kids. It is a pretty fun place for people.

Jaeden S — Google review

Visiting Destin Harbor Boardwalk was an unforgettable experience! The vibrant atmosphere, stunning waterfront views, diverse entertainment, and delicious dining options made it one of the best destinations I've ever been to. If you haven't been there yet, it's definitely a must-visit!

This place has really grown into a tourist attraction. Lots of shops and restaurants. Ice cream, coffee, Alcohol. Cool place to stroll around with a drink in your hand. Zip line, jet ski rentals, dolphin cruises, deep sea fishing. Tons of foot and water traffic. Pretty cool spot. I paid 20 bucks to park with same day re entry.

Jeremy B — Google review

What a wonderful place to have fun with the family. There are small train ride for little kids, jumping zone, zipline, free fall etc. you can take dolphin boat tours or charters. Fast food options like french fries, grilled cheese, funnel cake are there. Great fish restaurants. Definitely you should go. It is best in the evening time!

Betul E — Google review

Very busy, lots of fun. Nice stores. It was one of the best harbor walks we have been. Many stores for browsing and many cool eats.Very full after 3pm usually. Plan to spend at least a few hours there. They have a cool zip line that has a beautiful view of the harbor.

Chris S — Google review

We enjoyed our time at the boardwalk, it was $20 daily parking. You can leave and come back just have to keep your ticket on the way out. There was a free concert at night featuring Flash Flood when we visited. We really enjoyed them! We saw lots of fish walking along the boardwalk, and listened to lots of great music. There are plenty of places to shop and eat!

Breanna C — Google review

Great place for families to spend the day. Plenty of places to shop, catch a cruise, or have a meal. There are lots of activities like rock climbing, mini golf, 7D experience, food trucks. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching boats come and go. We were there on a Thursday night and they had a vintage air show, live music and we had a late dinner and view of the fantastic fireworks.

Jamie B — Google review

Fun and lively. Lots of boats cruising and music everywhere. Wonderful during the "off season" because it's not overly crowded. A new favorite vacation local spot for my early spring getaway.

Robin H — Google review

Great little outdoor boardwalk with plenty of entertainment for the kids. Some good food places and definitely fresh, delicious adult beverages. You even get to see the fishermen with their daily fish hauls

Caitlin M — Google review

It was fun. Yeah, it was a bit touristy, and prices were maybe a little high. But it is worth it. Just a nice stroll and street performers every now and again, not there begging for money. Safe family things. And free parkimg is available.

Brian N — Google review

Excellent spot to do some shopping, enjoy some entertainment, or grab a bite to eat. Lots to do from boat rentals to fishing and sightseeing excursions to food and activities all right there. There is a 20 dollar parking fee, but it's good for the entire day. It's definitely worth the visit!

Romeo — Google review

Pretty neat place to spend time in Destin. Alot of boat tours, dolphin cruises etc one could ride on. Some restaurants as well along the boardwalk to grab a bite. Would recommend staying at Wyndham hotel on the harbor to make it easy to be in that area.

Raheel R — Google review

Very cool place! Lots of shops, restaurants and food trucks. They have some games for the kiddos like the giant hamster balls they get in the water in. There was even a guy walking around on stilts making balloon animals :-) You can also walk the marina and check out all the cool boats. Great view of the bridge and islands too! $20 parking seems a little steep; but we enjoyed it.

SweetSouthernLiving — Google review

Fun with lots to do, and good food! The harbor boat rides are a must. We didn’t regret it. Weren’t expecting it to be so much fun

Milana K — Google review

Lots of thinks to do to include attractions, shops and good! Really cool seeing the birds on the boats while walking by the fishing boats! We ate and shopped on the boardwalk and it was an overall positive experience. Parking at Zerbe Street parking or the Destin Community Center is 15.00 all day… so it’s a little cheeper and only like a 5 minute walk. The one thing I Did not appreciate the time share people trying to lure us in every time we walked by them though (they are wearing the Club Wyndham shirts and at first they offered a discount and then they were trying to get me to give them details … don’t let them fool you, unless you want a timeshare of course)

Jaclyn K — Google review

Beautiful. Plenty of great restaurants, bars and shops. Beautiful area. In season is march - october, we've visited before outside of season. Many places were closed or had reduced hours. Check hours before visiting if you have your heart set on a specific location.

Donna N — Google review

Fun to roam around and take in the sights, eat a snack, relax to live music. We were in the Emerald Green for a Wyndham Presentation, which is another story in itself. Prices were higher that some of the other shops around town.

C J — Google review

A must do when in Destin. Shopping, food trucks, AJs restaurant, fishing boats pulling up...last weekend in October is big fishing competition, there is seating/bleachers, u can get a cold beer and just people watch, take a dolphin cruise. Loved all of it.

Booked 3 fishing charters (Feb21st, April 1st&5th 2024) with Swoop|| had a alright time all 3times but one of the deck mates insinuated that my party didn’t tip enough like one couple did. 1st time we tipped about 20% 2nd time 23% of the charter booking cost. I personally don’t know what’s customary or average but the deck mate Oz made it clear me and my party weren’t appreciated. In away it wasn’t just Oz that made us feel unwelcome. After all that, 2 different parties spoke with us and said they will never book with them again and neither will we. Plenty of other party & private fishing charters out of the Destin Harbor. I feel we over tipped on our way out the 3rd time after that not so pleasant experience. This was my short story 🤷🏼‍♂️

Lonny S — Google review

Fun place to hang out. There are alot of shops. You can rent charter boats too.

We went to get our yearly Christmas ornaments. We were gifted with a festive atmosphere and one of the most beautiful sunsets. During the season, the harbor is so lively and energetic. But, I have to say, December is my favorite time. Quiet, peaceful, and fun.

Beaches

Henderson Beach State Park is a great place to spend a day or two, with its beautiful beach, nature trail, and playground. The park is located on Emerald Coast Parkway, close to many restaurants.

I live across the street from Henderson Park and as such I go there just about every morning and walk the beachI get Early Access so I get to see the Moon Over the beach and I get to see some really great sun rises and some sunsets. This is a wonderfully managed State Park I particularly like Alex who always has a smile on his face. If you can get an RV campsite here you will not be disappointed. However, the campground beach access boardwalk will be closed for repairs from September 2021 through March 2022.Still, it's spectacular and the next state park that you'd should try if you like being on the beach would be Topsail which is about 12 miles down the road but Henderson is easier and a much better day use Park.Topsail which is further down you have to take a tram to get to the beach and I prefer being able to park and walk right over at Henderson

Joe R — Google review

Absolutely the best RV site we have ever stayed in. Very private. The beach is amazing. Gorgeous and scenic. We longed to have been able to stay longer, but we could only get these 2 days for reservations. It's just too hard to get into.We can't wait to come back.

John N — Google review

Amazing place. Loved it. Camping was great with camp site so cute that I felt we were on a film set. And of course the beach was fabulous. Easy camping - gravel sites have sturdy large picnic tables and bbq pits. Easily wide enough for slide outs and we had no problems parking RV and tow. We were in 3 different sites and the walk to the bathhouse was never longer than a minute on a level, smooth asphalt road. The dump station was easy to use, very clean and pull through from both directions. Rangers were very nice and offered the beach wheelchair when I asked about handicapped access to the beach. Camp hosts were helpful, but not quite as friendly. One of them expressed her irritation when I stopped to talk to her 15 minutes before we were due to leave our site. Even when I said we were ready to go she continued to reiterate we had to be out in 15 minutes. Stridently. And then followed us to hide behind bushes next door to wait for us to leave…. Tips: campgrounds and baths easily accessed with short walks and with wheelchairs. The regular showers did not have grab bars and were narrow. Family showers have room for a wheelchair and have grab bars. We had a few short waits to access these rooms. (Benches are provided outside along with laundry facilities) There are no shower chairs under the water - a bench is provided away from the water in all showers - so one must stand or bring your own chair to shower. (The beach wheelchair may fit - we didn’t think to try it!) The beach wheelchair is very cool and the rangers thoughtfully brought it to our site. We used it once and returned it. For us it was easier to drive to the furthest parking lot, park in handicap parking and take the very short walk to the beach rather than maneuver the beach wheelchair through the long camping walkway to the beach. The Ranger did warn us it wasn’t easy to use the beach chair on harder services, but we couldn’t figure out any other way to use the beach chair as it’s too bulky to be able to put it in the back of the car and take it to the beach. So the first day we took the wheelchair from our campsite through the camping walkway over the dunes to the beach. It was an adventure. I would not recommend doing this unless the person pushing the wheelchair is fit. The dunes are high and the walk is at times a little steep - both up and down. The beach wheelchair steers like a cinder block and while it provided hilarity, we decided not to try it again. In addition, the beach chair worked really well on the more packed sand, but once the sand became looser, it was a struggle. There are fabric walkways into the sand to allow access to the beach, but they stop on very soft deep sand and the wheelchair was not happy about this. All in all it was a wonderful trip, but involves some effort to access the beach if someone in your party has mobility issues. We managed it by taking it slow, and using handicapped parking, handicapped walkways and handicapped beach access to limit the amount of walking. We also made certain to have everything we might need with us when we left the car for the beach. The sand is wonderfully white and soft but very difficult to walk in if you have mobility problems. We were glad we did it and we will do it again. Just takes a little planning

We couldn’t believe we’ve just driven past this beautiful place dozens of times. We got there before 11am on a Saturday and it was very quiet. The beach was beautiful and we felt like we had it to ourselves for a while. The restroom and picnic facilities were very well kept. Definitely worth the six dollars for parking. We will be back.

Brett A — Google review

We’ve been lucky enough to camp at Henderson twice. It’s a beautiful campground. We love the privacy of the sites. You’re not on top of one another like other campgrounds. The walk to the beach is a bit long, but so pretty! The best part is that the beach is for campers, and isn’t crowded at all. Bathhouses are kept very clean. The campground hosts were very nice! We can’t wait to return!

Kerry H — Google review

This is one of my favorite beach parks. It’s always clean, bathrooms open and plenty of parking. It can get busy in the summer, so get there early to make sure you can get in. Also, know that you can walk your dog on the park behind the beach but they won’t let dogs on the beach unless they are certified service animals.

Thomas H — Google review

Absolutely loved the beach! The sand was so white and soft. There is a fee to enter as it is a state park. There was a little wait to enter but it was well worth it. The water was so pretty and the beach was extremely clean. I will be returning.

Sun was high, sand is soft, water is fresh. Very awesome beach! Parking is well managed. Jas shower. Peaceful park, not overcrowded. Must come back for sure!

Gary H — Google review

We loved camping here, the walk to the beach was gorgeous. This might have been the nicest beach I have ever visited. The waves were a bit rough the first day (not terrible though), but then lovely and calm the next. I really enjoyed snorkeling. The water was so clear, it was perfect. The camp site was secluded, bathrooms were clean and it was a plus to have laundry machines on site. Now, to only do something about those pesky thunderstorms... we will be back!

This beach is one of the top five beaches in Destin, FL so we decided to check it out! Posted sign say $6 to park per car with 2-8 people but we were only charged $5 (maybe we got a discount because it was July 3, 2023). There was plenty of parking. As we walked down the stairway to the white sand beach all I could see was this beautiful, clear turquoise water and and the amazing blue skyline. It was a sight to see! This is such a beautiful beach with the soft white sand and clear water. It was a trip worth taking! Check it out and you’ll be implode I was! 🏖️☀️🏝️

Had an amazing camping 🏕 trip here in October of 2023, beach was a beautiful empty paradise, Sunday there were three small weddings but nothing that inconvenient, staff was very helpful 😀 and pricing for the camp site and park pass are reasonable

Jared C — Google review

The park charges $6 per vehicle per day. You can enter and leave the park with the same day receipt. The park is exceptionally clean, has ample parking, and includes all the amenities needed to make it a perfect beach day. There were covered picnic areas, restrooms, showers, and changing areas.

Great park! The park was clean and well maintained and price of admission is reasonable. I will definitely come back for another relaxing beach day.

"Private" beach with super soft white sand. Cost $6 a car load(2-8). Although it was packed with people it was super peaceful. Bathrooms on site are an extreme convenience. Well worth the trip from PCB to come hang out with friends staying in destin.

Park seems to be very clean. Well kept fairly organized. Multiple nice pavilions to use beaches are clean and white with beautiful blue green waves. Staff was welcoming. Going to help. One of the bad things about all the Florida State parks. Dogs are not allowed on the beach. The trail for the dog is nice. Wasn’t allowed to go into the campground to check it out because we are not camping here currently.

Dennis B — Google review

State Park is one of cleanest I've ever visited. The trail and parking lot area are dog friendly but not the beach. Accessible but doesn't provide beach style wheel chairs. Beach patrol happens often enough to keep everyone safe. Great spot to take photos in the Destin area.

I finally made it to Henderson State Park. I have watch so many videos and heard how beautiful this beach is. It was hard for me to believe as some of the gulf beaches are marshy in the central area. It is a beautiful as they say and Henderson Beach State Park is one of the best State Parks I have stayed at so far. I will be back for sure.https://youtu.be/u6nSQhRYZBc

Beautiful campground. Will be 5 stars when they get full hook ups later this year. Tourist helicopter is going over the park pretty regularly. Some road noise from 98 depending on your lot. Many really nice pull thru sites. Good amount of privacy on most lots.

Dan R — Google review

Great Campground with easy access to the beach. We enjoyed our campsite #35. Very quiet Campground. Resrooms and showers were alwregistered. Very friendly and helpful camp hosts. This Campground was only marked down to 4 stars because of the entrance. If you leave the Campground as a registered camper you have to wait in the long line of cars to get back in. We had to run a quick errand one day and sat in the line for over 20 minutes to get back in. All other state park campgrounds have a lane for vehicles that are already regitered. It was very nice that they have extra camper parking reserved in the parking area. This was a big help because we arrived around 1:30 due to the check out time at the previous campground. We could not get checked in until 2:30 at Henderson.

This place in Miramar Beach was probably the highlight of our trip to Destin, Florida this past summer. After spending the day at the beach, my daughters and I came over here to have dinner.Because of the multitude of tourists flooding here in the evenings, parking was a little bit of a challenge. Luckily the resort provided shuttles about half a mile from the attraction points which was fast and convenient. There are a lot of nice restaurants and shops. We dined at the Crazy Lobster restaurant, which was family friendly. Food was decent. After dinner we went to the open air music venue and enjoyed the beautiful fireworks that is done here during summer at sun down. It was very exciting and my family loved it.I would definitely come back and also recommend this place if you’re in the Destin area.

Joseph M — Google review

It's cute but designed for families with younger children. Food is really overpriced, and not many good choices. In a good location with better areas nearby to eat and shop. If you have little kids there is a lot for them to do.

I visited the public gathering area for their Wednesday evening free concert. Parking is always a little tough, there is a lot of overflow parking. Wear comfy walking shoes. The set-up for their music is always great. Arrive early, with your own seat, to have options.

We were here during the off season so it was quiet but we could totally see how fun it would be for family and kids during high season. Lots of activities for the kids and restaurants and bars. Great spots to watch the sunset too! Had a nice walk out onto the pier.

We really enjoyed our visit. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had everything we needed including a small refrigerator, a microwave oven, and a coffee machine. Also the bed was extremely comfortable. It was plenty for all ages. We will definitely stay again.

This place was amazing. So fun for the whole family. Their website doesn’t accurately describe the magic of this place. There is shopping, restaurants, activities for kids like a rope course, zip line and arcade. At night time the area is lit up with strong lights, there is live music, and other special events. We saw a HydroFlighter perform and Saturdays there is a Farmers Market. We loved the Village.

Amelia P — Google review

Good place to spend a few hours in the evening/afternoon and enjoy a decent meal. Needs more parking (especially on fireworks night). Fireworks on Tuesday night during the summer is a good show for the kids!

Blake H — Google review

We were somewhat disappointed in our experience as we expected to also enjoy the Farmers Market, and maybe it was too hot out because there were only a handful of stands there. We enjoyed the few shops we went into, and the area was lovely. Parking was tricky as it said it was public yet we were locked out when we tried to return to our car and had to go thru a restricted area to get to it.

One of our favorite places to hang out! There is so much to do here. Great restaurants and bay views and lots of stuff for kids to do. It's also very dog friendly.

We spent the new year Eve in this village, I didn't expect much before entering into the village. The security navigated us to the parking spot due to new year there was a huge crowd but well managed. They provided shuttle with hand band indicating which spot you started from. The village is beautiful and quiet a good sea food restaurants available on the other hand there are kids related activities like golf, arcade, zip line etc.. I would definitely recommend this place.

Really nice. Lots to do but somewhat quiet due to off season. Plenty eateries, bars, and places to hang out. It's decorated with all sorts of holiday themed decorations which are picture worthy. Would definitely go again when it's warmer.

I've been here with my family about 4-5 times, highly recommend as a more low-key, relaxing family vacation. We go over Christmas break, and it is never crowded. I recommend renting a house with golf cart, it makes traversing the villages and the attractions a lot easier.

Great area to take the family and your furry friend. Our dog loved walking around and got so much attention from staff and who all clearly love animals and working on the wharf. My eight year old loved the sky rope course and the live music on Wednesday night. There's also fireworks on Tuesdays that are worth going to.

This place is great for families. Very cool area built in a gated community. Shopping, food, and activities. The night we went they also had a cover band playing oldies which the kids loved.

We visited the village in hopes to do some shopping and dining. The parking is very challenging. The only public parking offered to guests who aren't staying in one of the hotels is a parking garage that provides spaces that are very narrow and interrupted by lots of concrete barriers making the spaces even more cramped. We didn't feel comfortable parking there but didn't have any other options. Upon entering the village, we had a hard time finding a guest services office, but finally found someone in a back alley office. We were seeking a stroller rental for our toddler who was sleeping. They do not offer strollers, but the nice lady did provide us with a wheel chair, which was helpful and certainly better than nothing lol. But we'd recommend adding a few strollers to be available to families especially since this is a family oriented Village. There were three stores we specifically wanted to visit and they were all closed. We stopped by the overpriced ice cream shop and grabbed two cones. The staff there was friendly. We made a lap around the loop. It was pretty much a ghost town. Not a lot happening. The activities for kids are very expensive. The village is beautiful and charming but we had higher hopes for the overall visit and ended up being in and out in less than an hour.

I struggled giving this a 4 star but chose to as it was advertised to be more than I found it. There are a lot of restaurants and bars (great for 21+) and lots of family friendly activities (great for 13 and under) but not a lot for those in between. Most of the planned events are best for littler kids. Great place if you have a young family or a group of adults. Definitely 5-star if that is your group. We did stick around for the Tuesday fireworks and dancing, which took a bit of effort once they played Baby Shark song for the littles. Good fireworks display and the DJ did well throwing in some mixed music.

Attended the 11th Annual Tequila & Taco Festival at Baytowne Wharf. Awesome experience - great location, lots of room to move from booth to booth and the VIP event on Saturday was amazing!!

We had a very good time. there's much to say with this little or as much walking as you would like. Rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. hours looked out over a terrace with grass, a place to play and a pool very nearby.

I was pretty underwhelmed from the hype of this location. It’s in a nice location, but the food is pretty mediocre at best and the shops are filled with any touristic type purchases. There are a lot of kid friendly activities, which makes it good for families.

Went here for the Mardi Gras Pardi. Lots of music in the public spaces, along with street performers and beads (thrown from a scissor lift that moved around the village). Enjoyable evening entertainment which we followed up with drinks and dinner at Rum Runners piano bar - lots of fun people enjoying the lively music.

Great location with restaurants, shopping plaza, night clubs, activities for kids in the daytime. Overall great experience. Checked in at Baytowne Wharf - Observation Point North #250

State park

Outdoor Activities

Grayton Beach State Park is a stunning stretch of 1133-acre marble-colored sand dunes that reach all the way to the water's edge. It offers breathtaking natural beauty and is situated next to the affluent yet unpretentious community of Grayton Beach, which is famous for its Red Bar and Dog Wall mural. The park provides an opportunity to witness what Florida looked like during Native American times and boasts one of the most scenic locations on the Gulf coast.

Such a calm and smooth beach on the Gulf of Mexico Santa Rosa Florida. It may sound weird but true. Even we walk 10 to 15 meters inside the beach, you can still see the clear bottom of the sea which I had not experienced before, such a easy waves. It’s especially wonderful for kids. Parents can sit and watch them playing rather worried for the rough waves. Sunset is a beast in this beach. Must watch. Some of the authorized and permitted vehicles can be brought to the shore and a hot the beach sitting in your own car/ truck. Low clearance vehicles be careful, vehicle gets stuck in 20, 30 meters from the pavement which is a hell to pullover later. We went twice in a single vacation. We enjoyed a lot and visit again.

Shalini R — Google review

Paddling through here is one of my new favorite activities. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards right near the launch. There's so many different places to paddle, I spent 3.5 this paddling and still didn't see everything. I loved paddling through the tall grass as the wind went through it. Sometimes you can even find lilies among the lily pads. The bathrooms are near the beach and they were pretty decent. There's also different picnic area you can eat at.

Dani B — Google review

The lake and beach are amazing, every camping spot is a very short walk to restrooms and showers, the staff is very friendly. Although pets are allowed, they're not allowed on the beach. So myself and a few others had to drive 30 minutes to Panama City to take our families to a pet friendly beach in order for the family to stay together. Otherwise, this trip was great!

John K — Google review

The costal dune lakes are the most unique ecosystem I’ve ever had the pleasure of exploring. Having grown up in this area, I can say with confidence that this state park will show you the true beauty of Emerald Coast. The trails thick with sand and can be tiresome for some until you make it to the pine straw, so be prepared if traveling with older folks. There’s parking right at the trailhead and quick beach access for anyone wanting to skip to the end. If it rained the night before some of the trails might be flooded and impossibly so plan accordingly. Have fun and bring water!

Daniel P — Google review

Very beautiful! Blue ocean and white sand. It was a little cloudy when I visited the beach, but it was still amazing. My family relaxed for two hours on the beach with doing nothing and took a trail. We completely enjoyed our stay there.

Mariko K — Google review

Grayton Beach is a quiet area away from Destin's chaos. They have a tram that takes you to the beach and the beach is less crowded but still gorgeous. There is a cool bar right off the beach also.

Brian G — Google review

Our first family vacation and our daughters first trip to Florida and a beach. The cabin was beautiful. In fact my daughter said she could live there. We were very close to the beautiful beach and very clean. Friendly people every where. The cabin has all the necessities except the towels but we had plenty of our own to use. Dogs are not allowed in the cabins.

Stacey M — Google review

Getting into the park is really easy and navigating to the different areas of the park is easy and clearly marked. If you’re camping it looks like the higher numbers are the newer sites and maybe a little larger as well. Parking lot for the beach is easy to find but very limited so if you think it might be busy you’ll not be able to get parking. If you’re lucky enough to get a parking spot it is a short distance from the beach. At the entrance of the walkway to the beach is a pavilion to sit in the shade. The walk way from lot and beach is well done and has open showers and foot washing at the parking lot. The beach is a “NO Dog” beach but there is a walking path that allows dogs on a leash. Great walk with your dog to enjoy. A Park Staff person (not volunteers) was not pleasant or engaging while in the park and wasn’t of much help this time at park.

Dennis B — Google review

Probably the best beach along 30A! If you have a Walton County beach permit & a 4 wheel drive vehicle you can drive on the beach and park to spend a fun day. This is one of the best and last beaches you will find and drive onto. There’s a coastal dune lake that outflows into the Gulf of Mexico usually after a heavy rain, resulting in a tea coloring of the emerald water. It doesn’t have a detrimental effect on your health and is not polluted. Just relax and enjoy this jewel of nature!

Dr F — Google review

This place is absolutely beautiful! We rode our bikes in which cost $2 per bike which is super reasonable. The staff that we spoke to were SUPER nice and gave us the full rundown on what to do there. We ended up renting kayaks and had an absolute blast on Western Lake. It was $20 for an hour which is also very reasonable. We finished the day with a nice walk along the beach.Would 100% recommend this place.

Connor S — Google review

You can tell a lot of care is put into the facilities here. From restrooms to lake side trails, everything was clean and well kept. Staff members greeted us with a smile any time we crossed paths.Even with many fellow visitors in the area (mid May) the beach was serene and peaceful. The trail along Western Lake was an interesting experience with changes in flora along the way and part of the path was made of thousands of fully intact seashells.

M G — Google review

This trail is perfect for taking your furry friends for a walk or simply appreciating the beautiful scenery. The beach is clean and easily accessible, and there are convenient restrooms nearby, too. The only issue I encountered was the sea shells on the trail. Unfortunately, they can be quite sharp, and I cut my foot wearing sandals. So, it's important to be cautious of your dog's paws and wear appropriate footwear. Hopefully, in time, the shells will become smoother and less of a concern.

Laura N — Google review

This is may be the best state park for my taste. Of course everyone is different. You park close to the beach. There are trails to walk and bike. The beach is not super crowded like other public access locations across the 30A. There is a boat ramp inside the park to the western dune lake. Huge lake and very calm.

Alper Y — Google review

Beautiful white sand.Clear blue to green water. Not crowded like most public beaches. This place is ideal for families who don't like crowds and a lot of current. The water stays below three to four feet for about the first 100 feet from shore. We found live sand dollars galore along with a six inch starfish, some hermit crabs, a jelly fish or two, and schools upon schools of fish. We even saw dolphins jumping in the distance, which I was able to catch one or two on film.I would highly recommend this park to any family who wants a fun beach outing without a lot of other people.

Josh A — Google review

Looks like all sites are full hookups. Beach is about a mile or two from the site. This beach gets really busy, but the sunsets are amazing.

Ted L — Google review

Beautiful and quiet beach in January. Dogs can’t go on the beach, but they can walk on a leash on the nature trail through the dunes and it was unexpectedly my favorite part of the park!

Riley K — Google review

It's January, so...We trailer camped 10 days in a nice site with fauna separateing others. The north loop is paved and more airy than the S loop. Bathrooms were so-so. Heated with proper shower fixtures, but two of three ladies' stalls were down. Wet floors. No soap.We walked a lot going camp to nature trail and back (2mi?) and enjoyed walking to Greyton Beach and Seaside along the sidewalk/trail. The woods trail was a typical Florida trail. Minimal wildlife is seen compared to some other places (jan?). Sure... would return...

Bill O — Google review

Beautiful beach, not crowded, plenty of parking, clean and clear water. The flies, unfortunately, were brutal, so we cut our visit short. Be sure to bring the fly spray if you plan to visit this beach.

Shopping mall

Shopping

Pier Park is a large, busy shopping mall with a wide range of shops and restaurants. The mall is great for people who want to spend the day shopping, eating, and checking out attractions. There are over 120 stores in the mall, including a Grand IMAX movie theater and laser tag.

Amazing visit in PCB! There are so many restaurants, shops, and fun things to do and try! Great for all ages, and right next to the beach! It's a perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of swimming, and I must say, the view at night is absolutely divine! You can get a wristband to walk out on the pier at night, and to look back at the lights and listen to the ocean takes you away and makes you feel free. The scenery is amazing, and during the day, the atmosphere is fun and inviting! You'll want to spend a whole day exploring and enjoying everything Pier Park has to offer and you're sure to find plenty of souvenirs to take home!

Really nice area on Panama City with a lot of activity for children or adults restaurants everywhere many stores and shopping with a lot of seating if you just want to seat down and enjoy the view.Highly recommend especially on night time the atmosphere is really cool.If you are in Panama City you have to check it out!

The 'Sky Wheel' is not your typical 'ferris wheel.' It is worth riding for the views alone. Pay attention at purchase. '3 attractions' is the cheaper option for 3 riders of the wheel. You must check out the free face painting booth! Amanda is amazing & did an awesome job on all 3 faces! She made the girls so happy!! The Aladdin man juggling was pretty neat, too.. & even took the time to let the children learn along beside him.

Pier Park is a fantastic destination, offering a blend of relaxation and entertainment. One of the highlights for me is the opportunity to go fishing. The pier provides a serene and scenic spot for casting a line, making it a favorite pastime. In addition to fishing, Pier Park boasts a plethora of nearby restaurants. Whether you crave seafood, burgers, or international cuisine, there’s something to satisfy every palate. After a day of fishing, it's great to have so many dining options within walking distance to refuel and relax.

Phuong T — Google review

This place was a great visit for me and my family. There is pretty much everything in here from clothing to surf/skate boards and to food and deserts. Also easy access to the pier on the water. Could not find a “public. Bathroom” without going into a store to use. Great visit along with a movie theater also!

Mitchell L — Google review

It's a great tourist stop. But we are locals now, and despite being local, we really enjoy coming here. There is a lot of stuff to do for the kids, as a couple, and as a family. The escape rooms are awesome, and Dave and Busters can get crowded, but that's to be expected. There are lots of places to stop and eat, plus the ferris wheel is amazing. When family comes to visit us, this is a great place to take them.

Victoria B — Google review

I love coming to this place when I'm at Panama City Beach, honestly, this is probably the premier place if you want to go shop and spend money. There are lots of places to eat, lots of places to buy snacks, lots of places to buy clothes, and just lots of places to honestly buy anything that you could possibly imagine for a trip to the beach or even if you live here. The place is very well maintained and it's always clean and orderly and I never have an issue with people causing any kind of trouble here.Anytime you come here it feels like there's a new store to go explore and there's always something going on here.

It's a nice place to visit as a tourist. So many stores, attractions and restaurants. You can see everything from the top of the SkyWheel. There's a pier u can walk on across the street for a $4 fee. I've been here a few times and enjoyed myself every time.

Towanda ? — Google review

Had a great experience here, there are tons of shops, stores, restaurants, activities, sights, and more! Great place, went here with my group and we all had a great time. You could definitely spend quite a bit of time here exploring, and going through shops.

Jacob E — Google review

So much to see and do! It was $4 a person to enter the pier but so worth it. We even saw a dolphin showing off in the water at the end of the pier. There were so many cool shops and wonderful restaurants to choose from. There is something for everyone!

Tharesa M — Google review

A lot of fun to walk around. A good variety of food choices. The shops are a mix between the expected beach shops and some nicer stores you’d see in your hometown. We rode the Ferris wheel and did the bungee jump. Loved both. I gave it four stars because on Saturday night there were a lot of big trucks coming through revving engines with teens hanging out windows. The vibe changed a little toward a more rowdy feel. Not a huge deal but enough for us to call it quits and head back to the hotel. Aside from that, it was really family friendly.

Rachel G — Google review

Great tourist spot. My second place of visit in the Florida State. Many shops, eateries are available. Ferry wheel is major attraction. Vehicles are not allowed to move in the street. Walkers can walk freely. A huge parking space is available.Parking is free.

Sarma V — Google review

A wonderful, fantastic experience! Very well kept, very clean, and a wide variety of shopping. The Sky Wheel is a must! Every type of store you can think of. Definitely recommend!!

Rob R — Google review

Something for everyone. Good assortment of stores, restaurants, gift shops, specialty stores, sweet treats and entertainment. Parking very close by. Close to the ball parks, beach and pier. Does get a little crowded during the tourist season sometimes but you can always get around if you don’t mind walking a little.

William B — Google review

It was just okay. We enjoyed the sky wheel and mini golf, but bring lots of patience and money. Way too busy, but it is spring break.

Samantha G — Google review

On a day that seemed to flirt with gloom yet graciously withheld its full embrace, Pier Park in Panama City Beach revealed itself under the nuanced light of spring break 2024. The mercury touched a comfortable 71°, crafting an ambiance that was neither too warm nor too brisk, but rather an impeccable middle ground for leisure and contemplation. The imposition of a four-dollar entrance fee was an unexpected twist in the narrative of the day. Yet, in the grand scheme of experiences and the memories they bequeath, this modest levy scarcely registered as a grievance. It was, at most, a mere footnote in a chapter filled with the serene beauty of the park and the gentle murmur of the sea.The park's cleanliness was a silent testament to the conscientious efforts of those who steward its grounds. In a world where the natural and the man-made often clash, here they coexisted in harmonious respect. The absence of litter was not merely a detail but a significant character in the story of the day, reflecting a shared commitment to preserving the beauty and dignity of this communal space.Awarding Pier Park a four-star accolade is an acknowledgment of its subtle charm and the understated way it provided a backdrop to a day that could have easily tipped into dreariness but instead held a certain luminous quality. The park, with its clean environs and the soft, forgiving light of a clear but overcast sky, served as a reminder of the simple joys that are often overshadowed by grander expectations. In its quiet dignity, Pier Park offered a space not just for recreation, but for reflection, making it a cherished waypoint in the journey of life.

Danny V — Google review

Decent shopping center/strip mall adjacent to the beach and pier. More of a tourist attraction. Very busy and lots of traffic (spring break time); summer may be busier and some times may be quieter. Okay to experience, but too busy if trying to get to the beach.

God's B — Google review

This was a really great experience. We walked out to the end of the pier and saw some fish, lots of people fishing and a really killer view. It cost us $4 per person, which isn't that bad! There is a bait cleaning station, also.

Kenneth J — Google review

There's a lot you can do with not enough time to do them. You'll find everything from food and clothing to longboards and helicopter tours here.Spent around 4 to 5 hrs here and saw maybe 10% of the shops. Most things you'll find to buy have a middle to high price tag.The all-day access fee for the actual pier is around $3 if you just want to walk around and take pictures. You can, however, pay around $7 for a day pass to fish off the pier.Right next to the pier is a public beach (no Entry fee) with a "dog side" and a "no dog side".

Brian S — Google review

Cool place for family! Pier was awesome and alive and also had dog beach! Did wish there was some more food options though.

Abby S — Google review

I mean, it's definitely one of those sprawling, outdoor commercial complexes that litter every major city in Florida but the beach access and the Pier itself are nice, the Skywheel is cool, The Grand is the best theatre within 100 miles, and it can be fun roaming around shopping and eating with friends.

Benjamin D — Google review

Beautiful animations of cartoons make it an eye-treat. Shops are incredibly artistic, and the tiny adventurous park is a must-try.

Shruti K — Google review

Pier Park is okay. There is plenty to do for all ages. My teenage son and I especially enjoyed the view from the SkyWheel (Ferris wheel), except it is completely overpriced. For example, I paid about $50 total for both of us to ride the SkyWheel for a matter of minutes. For double that price, we could have spent an entire day at an amusem*nt park full of rides, which would have been money better spent.

Mendy S — Google review

Clean, safe, lots of shops, and nice area to shop. You can pay to walk out on the pier or walk down to the water for free. Lots of food and treats to try!

Unbelievably packed with people and cars. Even with the large mall parking area it was extremely difficult to get a parking place. Also took a long time just to get through the bumper-to-bumper cars. Aquarium

Nature & Parks

Gulf World is an aquarium that houses a variety of animals, including dolphins, sea lions, penguins, and tropical birds. The aquarium also features animal shows and exhibits, as well as a night show in the Tropical Garden Theatre.

This place is a MUST GO vacation attraction. From the moment you walk inside you are greeted with nature. The birds are out free and not behind glass, they must be trained very well to know not to fly or wander off, or attack customers. It was great to see them up close! They also have the sea lions that will come out every now and then and you’re able to view them from a close range. It was cool to see all of the turtles, fish, alligators, and sting rays too. They even had an employee who held an iguana and allowed for us to touch it! It was a very cool experience. There are open spaces for a picnic, or break from walking. There’s even a kids area where all of the children can go and play. Plenty of signs and back drops for pictures too. They do have a concessions stand inside for food and drinks, it is a bit pricey so I would suggest bringing your own. I did not see a water fountain and it was extremely hot out today so dehydration is a concern when visiting. Please bring a water bottle if you can’t buy anything or don’t want to stand in the long line. The establishment was fairly clean and does have a bathroom and an air conditioned space within the facility. My favorite part about visiting today was the dolphins! The mermaids/trainers are amazing at guiding the dolphins. It was so lovely to see. The program was also very informative while also being entertaining. I would definitely recommend coming here if you haven’t already.

Queen L — Google review

We have never been to Gulf World and thought this time we should check it out while in Panama. I would not ever want to be there during a crowded season. It's a very small place compared to any zoo or aquarium we have visited. Being an off season now when we went it was fine. It was more expensive than for what we could normally get from other experiences at zoos or aquariums but it is still very enjoyable. I liked how you can pay for extra interactions and photos with the animals. We only needed two hours there so it is also good for a stop without it taking up an entire day of your vacation. It was pretty clean also. The dolphin show was fantastic and that's where I consider I mostly got my monies worth so if you don't see it you might as well just wait until you are sure you don't miss that.

Kristiana M — Google review

I love that this place takes in animals that can not return to the wild! A rehab for the animals but I can’t help to think some of these animals needed to be separated.I was able to do an encounter with this lovely sea lion Cooper! He did some tricks he hasn’t performed before. I would not recommend some of the tricks for younger kids because he is heavy. However he is a smart sea lion. He was free to go if he didn’t want to do tricks or interact with us. And that’s one reason I really loved this! I also had tons of questions about him and his species and the trainer was very kind and educational! We were only in the pool for about 20 minutes. I wish we could have done more. But I’m glad the staff had some boundaries on what could and could not be done. The turtles were moved inside the building and they were attacking each other. The sharks in the tank outside were attacking each other as well. I tried saying something but I don’t think there was anything they could do. The shark was trying to tare off the other nurse sharks tail. And they were at it for hours. There is a touch area for the sting rays where you can pet the top of them. You can also feed them. However there was a customer picking them up out of water many times and laughing at it. Telling his kids to come pet them. The staff members near by didn’t seem to care. Kids were leaning over the wall and one almost fell in. Again nobody seemed to care. I almost ran over to the kid because I thought he was going to fall in and his parents were not paying attention. The dolphin swim adventure was really cool. You can take pictures with the dolphin and he takes you for a short ride on his belly. The dolphin was treat motivated. I don’t think the dolphin would have participated if he wasn’t getting treats the whole time.Overall this was a great experience. But a friendly reminder these animals have their own minds and should be respected. Don’t do anything that could provoke them. Listen to the trainers. And please watch your kids.

Davis D — Google review

We had the best time at Gulf World on Labor Day. It was too hot to be on the beach so we took the kids to explore and have fun. My 3 year old was mesmerized by the dolphin show. It was her first time seeing marine life up close. She was so excited to be able to touch a dolphin with the photo opportunity after the show. The reusable souvenir cups were amazing and I love they had 1 dollars refills for the icees. All the staff walking around were kind and helpful. We only ran into one lady at the outdoor food window that acted annoyed and wasn’t the friendliest. Overall, it was a great experience and very educational. I love they talk about reducing waste and recycling to help the marine life. We’ll be back again.

Holly G — Google review

We had a nice time in spite of the heat. There were not as many marine animals as we were expecting. The facility is showing it's age, but is well maintained for the most part. The staff was friendly, helpful, and informative with the one exception of the obnoxious guy at the photo counter. We booked the morning time from 09:30-1:00 and the first chance to see dolphins was not until 12:30 so we missed it because it was too hot. Overall a nice experience, but not up to par with similar facilities on the gulf coast that charge less for admission.

Larry C — Google review

Love this place so nice great experience over all but the prices are wayyy to high and it’s hard to be able to get a full experience of the place without spending a ton! The place is clean the staff is nice and the animals were incredible. I will be back here for sure and hopefully pricing changes to make it more affordable for families to really experience the animals in a more up close way .. my kids had a great time and loved it here as well.

J T — Google review

It was an absolutely amazing experience to see the dolphins perform. I was blown away at the bond the trainers and the animals have, I can't imagine the amount of training and work that went into this amazing performance. If you're in the area it is a must see!! If you can, definitely go for the royal swim and swim with the dolphins. A truly once in a lifetime experience

Really great shows! The dolphin show was my 5 year old's favorite. Well done and the animals seem to well cared for. It's a great place to hit up in PCB if you have small ones or are an animal lover.

Jules H — Google review

Had a pretty good time viewing the animals located at the park. I will say that once you are in the park, everything seems like a money grab. The pictures offered with the animals run $10 a piece and can really add up. We looked at the swimming with the dolphins options, and came close to purchasing the packages. The cost isn’t cheap, but not necessarily super expensive given the opportunity. The only problem I had with the encounter was the banning of any kind of cameras, of course they offer to take pictures for you if you purchase a picture package along with the already pricey activity. The package does not specify how many pictures you get, if more than the singular pics that were offered at the end of each animal program. I just think if I’m paying all that money to swim with dolphins I should at least have to option to bring a water proof camera, ie go pro, to capture this amazing opportunity. Even as an observer to capture my children enjoying the moment. At least admission to the park is included with the cost of the activity. Unless we took part in one of the animal encounters I think the one visit would suffice and would not see a reason to return. Then again the kids and wife enjoyed it so you never know.

My daughter and I enjoyed a girl's day on our vacation here. We could not have asked for better! The shows were amazing and the staff was wonderful! My daughter asked to come back again! It is a very small place but, if you time it right and hit all the shows, you will have the absolute best experience!

Laura G — Google review

Dolphin show, sting rays and sea lion talk were highlights. Much of the time we spent there was self guided and we spent about 3 hours there. Good for a partial day activity but wouldn’t plan on spending more than a few hours. Many options to pay extra for are presented throughout your time there including photo ops, interactions with animals, etc.Our 4 and 7 year olds loved the sting rays and the dolphin show. I had a hard time hearing the person talking during the dolphin show, which took away from the experience a little. You can tell the trainers and animal care teams truly care about these animals.

Shelly E — Google review

My family and I had a nice time!! We wished we would have gotten there when they opened as we didn't get to see the encounter with the sea lion. But we did get to see a lot of neat animals. We also got to pet and feed stingrays and see a really neat dolphin show. So overall we had a good time and the kids really enjoyed it

This place is great if you want to book an animal encounter otherwise not worth the price for just general admission. The website wasn't clear that general admission was INCLUDED in the dolphin encounter so l ended up buying general admission also, that was non refundable. They need to make a change to the wording online. Also the email I received stated that there would be photos "for purchase" after the dolphin encounter yet they were actually included. The dolphin encounter was amazing and such a once in a lifetime experience. The photos didn't turn out that great though. A lot of the photos I received were very over exposed the camera settings need to be changed to correct this issue. There weren’t any areas to change after the dolphin encounter, so I had to change my clothes in a dirty bathroom stall. The rest of gulf world outside of the dolphins was pretty small. The enclosures were also super small for the animals.

What an amazing experience! We did the dolphin royal swim. Everyone I have talked to that has swam with dolphins anywhere else says they just get to touch them and that’s about it… Here we got to swim out in their tank 2 different times and they gave us rides. We also got to enjoy sea lion shows and a dolphin show with our tickets. Highly recommend. This was the best day ever.I am always hesitant about places like this but ALL of the animals here are very well taken care of and everyone we met were there for the right reasons and their main focus was keeping all of the animals healthy!

Krista R — Google review

I’ve been here twice in the last four years and I love it. The park is small but the shows will keep you busy for3-4 hours. I like how they coordinate the shows so that you get a chance to see them all. I only wish the animal encounters were a little cheaper.

Melinda M — Google review

The entire family, with 10 people voting (5 children under 10), were unanimous that this was not worth the time or money. The dolphin show is the best part of the park and provides good entertainment while also educating attendees on topics of biology and ecology. We expected to see more of this level of care in the other attractions, but that standard was too high. The rest of the attractions are very poorly designed and maintained. Although the staff was friendly, they are stewards of a park where the leadership appears to have stopped caring. The Tropical Garden Theater attraction attempts to entertain the audience with feathered and furry animals performing cute tricks, but the script is slow and the animals at our showing were uncooperative. There was almost no attempt to educate the audience on the animals, their biology, their native habitat, or conservation efforts. Our family has all agreed that we will never go back.

A must do if you are visiting the panhandle. Worth the drive! You could easily spend 4-6 hours here if you wanted to see all the shows and take in all the exhibits. Super impressed by the quality of the exhibits and the entertaining amd educational shows. The Little ones were enthralled by the variety of sea life and exhibits.

Eric B — Google review

The place could use some updating. I am sure they took a hit from the pandemic. Staff very cordial. Biggest ever Veteran's discount. Great variety of creatures and touchable stingrays. Displays are mainly indoors. Easy to find with free parking. Many concessions and the obligatory gift shop. Would be good for a "washout" beach day.

Timothy R — Google review

I was not expecting it to be as good as it was! The dolphin show alone was worth the price of admission. I loved the sting rays, the sea turtle, the sea lions. Everything was so interactive and entertaining. Fantastic experience all around!

Brandy S — Google review

The Royal Swim was amazing to say the least! The dolphins can easily lift you out of the water. We felt safe the whole time. The pictures came out great and easy to download. The park admission was included. Parking free. And the food at the grill was surprisingly delicious. I highly recommend this experience!

Michelle P — Google review

Fun little park!! Perfect size for young kids and pretty reasonable priced.Has small exhibits of penguins, alliagtors, and birds. Also has a large pool with a few animals like a nurse shark and large sea turtle. There was only one sea lion but it was a fun little show with it hopping in and out of its pool and staff sharing other information about sea lions. We loved the sting ray exhibit, that was the best part!! That was the coolest thing to feed and touch them! Also enjoyed the dolphin show!! I was impressed with the training as I used to visit sea world when I was young and the dolphin exhibit was comparable to that.Overall we enjoyed it. Only thing I could add was maybe to update the little playground area.

Lisa R — Google review

Do NOT recommend. We were completely floored by the conditions of these poor animals habitats. The sharks’ and huge turtle’s “habitat” was literally just a swimming pool with nothing added to make it look more like their natural environment. I’ve been in backyard pools that were bigger than their home. The sea lions’ habitat was honestly nauseating because it was so small. Again, nothing in their habitat to make it feel an ounce like the ocean or whatnot. The one sea lion looked so depressed. The alligators were just chillin on concrete. Don’t waste your money or time.

Hannah B — Google review

For an aquarium, I expected to see more fish, especially ones that are local to the area. We did see dolphins, parrots, sting rays and sea lions. There were also penguins and other random enclosures. I would not say this was your typical aquarium. The highlight of our day was definitely the dolphins. It was worth it to see the dolphin show alone.

Alicia H — Google review

A lot better than we thought it would be! Get there early - best shows start around 10-11. Food is decently priced . We loved the dolphin show

Jessica G — Google review

A lot of cool animals, with quite a few you can get up close to. We had a good time here and would go back again. They didn't have their normal schedule going on the day we went, so can't speak the whole experience. Definitely a good place to take the family. Does look like they need to do some renovations there, but that didn't hinder our time there. We would visit again.

Matt R — Google review

This place is a hidden gem. We thought we were only gonna spend an hour or 2 ther and my girls had so much fun we were there for 4.5 hours. They had fun little shows with the animals and awesome dolphin show and my kiddos loved feeding the stingrays. I would recommend!!

Danielle P — Google review

Overall a decent experience. Myself and youngest daughter purchased the dolphin encounter. I called before purchasing the tickets and was told as long as she’s 40+ inches tall she’d be able to participate. I had to hold her the entire time, which was fine for me but unpleasant for her. The water was definitely not clear and seemed dirty. I had anticipated the water to be clear/cleaned beforehand because of the photos they’ve posted on their website are clear water. The photos we received were decent. The times to the establishment weren’t clearly stated. Online it stated one time and on their phone line it stated a different time. It’s a decent place to take your children.

Courtney S — Google review

We did the dolphin adventure with my 2 girls one 7 one 3 and it was a pricey but worth it experience. Girls had a blast and the pictures were great and included. As a spectator the seating area is in the sun and the experience area is a shaded area. We are on the beach 30 minutes in the sun won't kill anybody and I have no complaints. Would definitely do it again. Staff was very friendly and answered any questions we had. My only complaint if you want to call it that was we bought tickets for event beforehand and internet says to arrive at 9:15. We did and weren't let in until 9:40 or so. Again little time in the sun won't hurt anybody.

Matthew B — Google review

We visited on vacation with our kids. Mixed reviews on this one. The dolphin show was incredible. The remaining part of the facility didn’t seem the best from the animals perspective.

Kimberly B — Google review

Positives:The animals are undeniably beautiful, despite the less-than-ideal conditions of their habitats.Negatives:Unfortunately, the habitats are too cramped for the animals they house, and some of the animals appeared unhealthy.Even TripAdvisor doesn't recommend this place due to animal welfare concerns.Food Court:I tried the chicken nachos, which were standard park fare. Nothing exceptional, but they did the job.The hygiene in the food court was subpar. A flickering menu on a TV with an exposed cord didn’t inspire confidence. And those paper fans for sale? Well, one had a squished fly underneath. Not exactly appetizing, especially considering it was inside the kitchen.Bathrooms:The bathrooms were downright scary. No stalls—just a large room with a toilet. Trash bins propped open the doors, and there were dangling electrical wires. Not the best experience.Shows:On the bright side, admission includes a few shows. The bird show stood out—well-trained birds that younger kids will enjoy.Odd Room:There’s this peculiar room with nothing but a small disco ball awkwardly tucked into a corner. Oh, and a projector sharing outdated info about a missing lizard. Odd, indeed.Overall Verdict:Regrettably, I cannot recommend this place. The treatment of the animals alone is concerning, and when you factor in safety, hygiene, and overall care, it’s best to steer clear.

Nature & Parks

Ponce De Leon Springs State Park is a year-round destination offering swimming, fishing, picnicking and hiking opportunities. This park boasts one of Florida's prettiest springs that is surrounded by knobby trees and has clear, almost luminescent waters. Visitors can swim easily thanks to the ladders installed around the spring. Two short trails are available for hikers to explore nearby Blackwater Creek. The water temperature remains constant at 68F making it perfect for a refreshing dip.

The park and spring were gorgeous! The water was super cold but we expected that. It was clear and you could see some beautiful fish. There was a separate section that was more shallow but had a current. There wasn't really a great place for little ones to wade but the water was a bit cold for her anyway so we did a short dip with her life jacket and then just sat and dangled feet and checked out some trails. Lots of picnic tables and there were restrooms at the entrance.I was disappointed that the steps going down into the spring were roped off so you could only use the ladders or the steps down into the creek from which the spring was not accessible. There was both a ramp and steps down to the edge of the spring but there wasn't an actual ramp down into the water. Did not affect our experience but something to note for those needing more accessibility.

Great place to visit. The water is clear to swim, the color is amazing too. That turquoise blue is very crazy to look at, it feels inviting but it will feel a bit cold. It’s not what you call warm but it’s kind of doable. It’s worth to do the swim and explore further and further. Not worth to go here just to look. For Florida this is stellar because it does not have these many places that are pristine and take you back in time. Modernization has killed natural habitats. Enjoy this habitat but don’t litter 🚯

This is definitely a great spot to go swim and relax for the day. It is a friendly environment and very clean. The water is a cool 58 degrees all year so be ready to have your breath taken away by the beauty and the temperature

Great place, they have grills and a lil food truck. They fill up quick and close before capacity. I saw multiple places for parking still and they never opened back up for more people even after people were leaving. It was weird.

What a beautiful spring! We didn’t know what to expect being from Nevada. The spring looked inviting but first we took a small trail walk. We saw a baby turtle and some fish, thankfully no alligator! Then we braved the cold water and jumped and played in the spring. We had a fun time and it was so fun to banter with others on the cold water!

Monique M — Google review

This is a must visit place. The water is beautiful, but it's also chilly. The water temperature is 68 degrees year round. On the 90 degree day we were there, it was a complete shocker but after a few minutes it became very refreshing. Definitely make the trip to see this gem.

James B — Google review

This place was beautiful. 4 covered pavilions. Outside shower, a shallow area for the little ones and a deeper side for diving. Even there is a sign warning about gators they don't like cold water. Plenty of grills and picnic tables. Large women's bathroom for changing. Vending machines with sodas and one with snacks.

Denise R — Google review

The entire family had a great time. They have grills you can use, picnic tables. It didn’t cost much to get in. Very cold and clear water. Bring floaties. They can blow up floaties also for up to 5 bucks each. They had food also you could buy with cash or card.

Beautiful spring. Area was clean and well maintained. A bit too cool for a dip today for our crew.

Misty D — Google review

My first time visiting a spring. This was a great experience. It was well maintained and you get to swim in the spring. The water was crystal clear and vibrant with sunlight. There was a trail along the creek, but I couldn't check that one out. We did see the caution board saying alligators might be in the middle of the trail and watch out for it to stay safe. But overall just talking about the spring it was a great experience and a well maintained park.

Avanthika B — Google review

The fountain of youth. For being January the water was actually quite favorable. Found a baby turtle, didn't keep it fyi. Very nice short nature walk. Seeing where the river meets the spring water was really cool. A must see .

Very beautiful state park. I kept hearing good things about this place so finally we decided to go with the family and check it out for ourselves. It’s very well organized and maintained park. We went there right before Memorial Day weekend and it was packed. We didn’t get to swim in spring water, however we did take a walk on their small trail around the creek. It was amazing to see crystal clear lagoons here and there. They do have stationary grills installed around the picnic area and have bench tables if you want to bring your own supplies and cook at the park. Overall great place to spend time with family and friends while being out in the nature. By the way entrance fee is $4 per vehicle.

I was here on October 3rd of 2020, the park is beautiful, and that water was refreshing.. now in October it's verrrrry cold. No time to warm from natural sun. There are creatures in all places, so be kind and also leave no trace. I enjoyed setting up the hammock and cooking out on the grills. I had a very pleasant time and will be back at some point when it's dead of summer next time. ...not me holding animals they just let Karla 💚

This is MUST go place. Beautiful and water is so cold and nice for hot day!! Never expected for this to be good but I would go back there again and again! Wow. I am so amazed how beautiful this spring is. Lots of shade and the food shack they have is decent and very reasonable! I am so happy to have found this place.

Kanae M — Google review

The hiking trails at this park are pretty short, great for a little day trip and swim during the nicer months. Tons of picnic tables and places to hangout. The park itself was clean and well kept, we went after some heavy rains and seeing everything flooded was a fun experience. We didn't get to do the trails because of flooding, but we'll be back.On another note - "don't be that guy"We're there enjoying nature sitting at a table and having lunch, our kiddos were playing great, when a bunch of jerks showd up blasting their obnoxious spanish rap music on big speakers at full volume. Really guys? Please be courteous to your neighbors. We ended up leaving, the park said they'd only do something if it was openly bad language or had multiple complaints. This policy needs to change.

Ponce de Leon Springsis a great place to view wildlife in migration. Thepark's real strength is wintering birds,Hike both short trails – Spring Run and Sandy Creek.Permitted fishing is allowed in areas not designated for swimming.Open 8:00 - sunset, everyday$4.00 per carWhen the park reaches capacity, it will close entry until someone leaves.

Apparently we came after the rains some of the locals we asked said it usually don't get this bad, so if ur coming as of right now you'll be disappointed like us.

Small park with a small swimming area. Looks like tubing is possible when water is higher. Small trails were nice to walk. Couple small fish in the swimming area. Small rivers along walking trails.

This is the one of the most serene states pearls we have been to. It is close to Panama City Beach and other 30 A destinations. If you are looking for a change of scenery from the beautiful beaches of the panhandle, we recommend curving out this state park. It is only forty minutes from Panama City Beach and the perfect place to spend the afternoon. Bring a picnic lunch, there are plenty of pavilions and picnic tables. The water is a crisp 68-degree year round but makes for a beautiful chill off spot on a nice hot day in Florida. There is also some cool nature trails for those who like to hike. plan a day at ponce de Leon state park and you will not be sorry you did. we will visit her every time we go to the panhandle. Tip: go early on a week day of you have the chance especially during peak season! it can get very packed and you may be turned away of there are too many people that day.

Love the springs! It is so beautiful and family friendly! The water is freezing cold tho, so make sure you go when it's the hottest outside! The sign says the water is 68 degrees but it literally feels like 48 degrees when you hit the water! But it is so worth the visit! And the water leaves you feeling so refreshed! Love, love, love this place!

My son and I came to check out this place for the first time last week. We had a great time! Excellent state park facilities, sandy bottom creek for wading, and diving ledge over the main spring. Definitely come and cool off here (water is 68°!) when it's hot out! Great snorkeling in any Florida springs too. Clarity is around 80 feet!

St. Andrews State Park is a natural haven located at the southeastern edge of Panama City Beach. The park spans over 1,260 acres and offers picturesque beaches, nature trails, and opportunities for camping. Visitors can also take seasonal boat tours to Shell Island. The roads in the park may require maintenance but they encourage visitors to slow down and appreciate the beauty of nature around them. St.

I love visiting St. Andrew’s State Park beaches. Today the pier was closed for repairs but the beach, nonetheless, was calling. The roads throughout the park need repair but I think the State purposefully doesn’t fix them so traffic has no choice but to drive slowly - it’s God’s country after all. There are clean restrooms and you can catch a boat to Shell island across the harbor/ bay. The water is warming up, the waves were perfect. What a really great day we spent with our community at the beach! Make sure you all come visit and have a great time loving on these beaches!

Great little State Park with an amazing wildlife area. The visitor Center was very neat and clean and informative about wildlife in the area and safety on the beach. For only $8 for our whole family, we spent the whole day visiting different areas of the State Park (a little bit of trail walking - didn't see any gators though) and spending most of the time on the beach! Definitely worth our time Jewel of the State Park! Highly would recommend it for anyone visiting or wanting to get away from the resort beaches. The beach itself was beautiful and had a jetty on the north and south side, the North side of the jetty created a calm pool for the kids to play in and snorkel around looking for interesting things. The south side has some nice waves and even did a little bit of surfing!

Justin T — Google review

Have been going here since I was a kid. Always have a great experience here. Great for shore fishing, pier or on the jetties. The kiddie pool side is great if you have small children, since it’s shallow and has minimal current issues. Scuba divers and snorkelers like to use the jetties to see different kinds of sea life around the rocks. You will still have jellyfish issues in there even without the purple flag flying occasionally, but if you know which ones to stay clear of, it won’t be a big problem.

St. Andrews State Park was beautiful! Definitely must visit when you come to PCB. Lots of wildlife especially birds. There were several people there birdwatching and taking photos. The beaches and views are amazing! Not as crowded as the main PCB beach. There is a fee to enter the park but totally worth it. We rode in by bike and paid $2 per person. Vehicles cost a little more.

Garrison C — Google review

Very beautiful area to visit. In December it was not crowded and the weather was nice. There are trails to see wildlife. We saw plenty of birds Herons, Egrets, Ducks, a small snake and a tiny frog. The facilities are clean and have nice access to the beach, pier and jetty. Entry was $8 per car at the time of our visit. We would go this place again when we are in town.

This was an absolutely wonderful way to spend the day. We took the water shuttle to shell island for a fantastic family day. Found many shells and got some great pics. Very secluded and nothing there. Make sure you take your chairs, umbrella and plenty of drinks and snacks. We will definitely return next year.

Sue D — Google review

We had so much fun exploring St. Andrews State Park! Not crowded at all compared to other beaches in the area. We only encountered a handful of people. It felt very private and secluded. We had entire sections of the park all to ourselves. The only drawback is the state park entry fee of $8. Which honestly, probably drives others away. It was really nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and heavy traffic of public beaches. Highly recommend! Will be coming back when in the area.

L W — Google review

The views from the beach and fishing pier were stunning! There were not the crowds as were on the public beaches.Entering the park, it appears to have had a recent burn as most of the plants and trees were blackened. There are nice restrooms, paved parking lots, and covered picnic pavilions. A fishing pier allows for an easy stroll over the crystal clear water of the Gulf. The shoreline is the beautiful white sand backed by the sand dunes. The canal to St Andrews Bay was busy with small fishing boats, sailboats, commercial fishing vessels, a pirate ship, and large ocean freighters.Hours passed quickly just watching all the activities. This pier is handicapped accessible.

Camping here at St. Andrews is always a treat! We come as often as we can. The sites are very clean and well spaced. This is our first time getting a water site, and it doesn't disappoint!!! The bath houses are very clean and the staff is friendly. We will definitely be back soon!

This place was beautiful! My husband and I and our two dogs camped here for a week. We rented a golf cart to drive inside the park. We loved it! The only thing we didn't like was that our dogs weren't allowed on the board walks or the beach.Other than that, it was wonderful!

Lorraine P — Google review

Absolutely beautiful, small parking area so get there early. They do have a shop for tshirts and trinkets. Very short walk to the beach either by sand or you can do the boardwalk/ pier and get to the beach as well. The water is so clear on the day we were here you can see all the way down through the water.

Dennis B — Google review

Absolutely gorgeous state park located in the Florida Panhandle. For an entrance fee of only $8 per vehicle, this place is an AMAZING stop. The park is lined with pristine beaches, with plenty of nearby parking and crystal clear water. St. Andrew's Park also has campsites available for those interested in staying there, and they also have stores and food on site for easy access. We did a sunset cruise that went around the park the next day, and we were amazed at the amount of dolphins surrounding the area, and all the wild deer that came up to the vacant beach at night. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience!

Jessica J — Google review

We loved St. Andrews State Park and all the wildlife (some of our pics are attached) but a map of the park indicating where to find the trails along with their details would be extremely helpful. I'd recommend skipping the Shell Island tour. We were under the assumption from everything we read that there would be good birding and shelling opportunities there but sadly, there were neither when we visited--just an expanse of beach. The best part of the trip to Shell Island was the boat ride over there.

Paul T — Google review

Before when I went to Panama beach, I had gone to public access and someone came to the beach with their dog. I love animals but when we have children, our situation is difference. How can I play with my son when I worry about his health! Anyway , I stop my plan for go to public access and I went to this park ! Oh Gosh! Here was amazing and there were shower and restroom! Very clean and anywhere you can seat and enjoy from your time with your family! They didn’t permit to pets ! It was wonderful for me! But somebody smoked similar locomotives! But all things were fine and also you have parking here! Anywhere police look around and protect people and their car from vandalism! I appreciate him. Please don’t forget about tickets. Each people should pay 4 dollar for adults but it is fair because you receive very good service. I am sorry for my long speech! I love you my followers! ❤️😙

Didn't see too much of the Park except for this incredible beach! For a yellow flag day, conditions were near perfect for a wave jumping, boogie boarding, shell searching kind of day. Love how far out the "shallow end" goes. Water was perfectly clear and the sand is beautiful.Spent the day there...end of March so the line to get in wasn't long and we had a close parking spot. Umbrella rental (2023) was $25 [license as collateral] which was a must for the Florida sun. The umbrella rental stand had other amenities including snorkel set, life jackets .... bikes! Ice cream for a treat. Bathrooms accessible and CLEAN! Another plus, the staff was so friendly.Kids and I call it a perfect beach day. 5 stars from Michigan.

This is a beautiful park. There is a ton of space including beach and swamp areas (with a gator lake and trail). There's plenty of pretty preservation areas. You will find restrooms, places to clean off sand, as well as spots to rest from the sun and picnic.

Alecia B — Google review

Beautiful and clean park. We accessed the beach and jetti areas. It's definitely worth the small fee to not have to fight a crowd. It's a great place for families to frisbee, fly kites, snorkel, float, sunbathe and picnic.

Sheila W — Google review

One of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen (and we are living close to Clearwater Beach 😉).We had a wonderful day. The water is perfect clear and the beach is clean. Not overcrowded. The gator pass is also awesome. We saw gators swimming and a lot of sea birds. We paid only $7 for the whole day. Highly recommend!

Janine J — Google review

Beautiful place relax, they have area for the kids to swim when it’s high tide on the other side for people doing the surfing. Can’t really bring your pet/dog in to the beach. You’ll hear and see boats going around.

LovelyGrace H — Google review

This is a great place to camp (RV, tent, van). Well maintained. Nice bath houses. Access to great hiking trails, beach, boat ramp, wildlife (abundant deer), camp store, pier stores have golf cart & bike rentals. Small wildlife museum where you check in is great for kids. RV pads are spacious with campsite grill and fire ring. Also, check the dates for a shuttle out to Shell Island.

Beautiful state parkI got here to late for the ferry to Shell islandHowever I had a wonderful time picking shells on the beach. Met some new friends, saw the sunset. Great day, lovely experience. The bathroom was dirty, and the pot holes will damage your car so fix them please. If you’re going to charge $8 to get in the park hire someone to clean the women’s bathroom twice a day and fix the pot holesThanksThanks

Very nice state park with beautiful beaches. It was pretty windy when we were there, but it didn’t stop anyone from having a good time. The beach area was clean. There are restrooms close to parking lot. There’s also a picnic area. I saw some signs for kayak rentals. I would definitely recommend

Nelida S — Google review

I'm not sure what it is like in the summer, but it's absolutely fabulous in November! Look at this water! Big beautiful dunes! Rest rooms and concessions. Kayak and tube rentals. All the staff is wonderful and knowledgeable! Also, they have shuttle boats to Shell island (bring your own chairs), as well as a sunset dolphin cruise!💛 Also tent and RV camping!

This was worth the $8 entrance fee for our 7-passenger van.We walked the gator lake trail and saw turtles and birds. Other people saw a gator but we couldn't find it. We saw people doing professional photographs on this trail. It is quite beautiful. Then, we headed to the beach to the jetty side of the beach. The jetty is a rock man-made structure that provides a sheltered area to snorkel, swim, paddleboard and kayak. They rent those at the jetty store. Bathrooms and showers, as well as,pavilions with picnic tables are available. It is a beautiful beach! We were supposed to take the ferry to shell island but opted not to because there are no bathrooms or services of any kind.

Denise S — Google review

I love this beach. It has shells, snorkeling, fishing, swimming and a store at the jetties. It has a calm back water behind the jetty where small children are safer and if there are 2 red flags you can still snorkel.

Deb M — Google review

We visited on a Saturday in January. No one there but it was a cool day (40s). Gorgeous park. Plenty of parking. Easy to navigate around. Fun to watch big ships going through the channel. Beautiful beach.

We loved St. Andrews State Park, we didn’t want to leave. It was so nice to sit at our beautiful campsite and watch the sunrise with a hot cup of coffee. It was a lot of fun to go to schooner’s restaurant and watch the beautiful sunset and watch the restaurant shoot off the cannon at sunset. We loved all the wildlife roaming around in the park and the beaches were so beautiful soft white sand, everything you want to do is really close to the park. Oh did I say we didn’t want to leave, we can’t wait to go back. This place is a must to put on your bucket list Twice!!

Ron B — Google review

Every employee I encountered made me feel like a welcomed guest. Sites are crammed in but spacious. Very busy roads but expected with about 170 full hook up sites. Beach was amazing, and we also loved the ferry ride over to Shell Island.

Ted L — Google review

Such a beautiful place for sunny day on the beach. I was surprised that there were not so many people. You need to pay for entrance but totally worth it. I found parking lot easily.

Andrei G — Google review

This park has absolutely beautiful views. It is very well maintained. Gravel parking spots enclosed with 4X4 treated lumber. Some shade but not a lot. The view of the water can be seen from almost everywhere.Nice playground area with a porch swing for relaxing. There is an oversized checkers set and nice benches. There is also an amphitheater. The bathrooms are pristine. Not new, but clean and well maintained.I hope to return soon.

Susan B — Google review

It was absolutely beautiful, tranquil and family friendly. The kids loved it here!! We would 1000% come back. It’s definitely worth the visit, the entry fee is minimal and great way to spend an afternoon.

The Boll Weevil Monument is a statue erected to honor the locals' resilience and adaptability in pivoting from cotton farming to peanut farming after being affected by pests. The monument stands as a symbol of perseverance and innovation. The statue holds great significance and draws tourists who come to witness its beauty and learn about the history behind it. It was unveiled during the Fall Festival on Main, which creates a lively atmosphere with numerous vendors selling their wares.

Loved it. There was so much to see and do. Lots of vendors and a great atmosphere. Edited to add...these pics were taking during the Fall Festival on Main.

Vicki B — Google review

This was a neat monument however, being in the middle of intersection made it a little difficult to enjoy closeup.Downtown Enterprise was very nifty! There's an eclectic mix of clothing, restaurants and specialty shops. Including a photography studio, Ballroom Dance class, Shopaholic, Simply South Boutique, You Nique Boutique, Daughter Dear Boutique pOpshelf, Corks & Cattle Restaurant, to man a few! They also have unique year round events!

DElightful P — Google review

Very cool little downtown.. enjoyed walking it with my daughter one afternoon. Amazing donuts super cool she shed fun deals at the thrift atore

R. E — Google review

This is my favorite place to go at night. The water is crystal clear. Don't tell anybody, but sometimes I cup my hands and drink from it. I would not recommend bathing in it considering you are in the middle of downtown and there is a camera 🤣🤣

Tommy K — Google review

I have wanted to see the Boll Weevile statute since I read about it in alabama history. 40 years to get here.

Torwne — Google review

The Boll Weevil Statue in Enterprise, AL, stands as a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of the community. Depicting the insect that inadvertently spurred the town's transition from cotton to more diversified agriculture, it serves as a symbol of adaptability and progress. The statue itself is a well-crafted piece of art, capturing the significance of this historical event. Visitors can appreciate its unique story and its role in shaping the identity of Enterprise.

Ronald H — Google review

We drove for two and a half hours just to take our grandson here. Yes we may be crazy, but it was a learning experience for him that did not involve a screen.

Missie G — Google review

Delighted to learn we were near the only monument dedicated to an insect, we went to check it out. The monument is underwhelming. Tiny and unimposing. Would be a great statue in a park.

Beth G — Google review

In the heart of downtown Enterprise Alabama you can find the Weevil Monument in the middle of the street it's hard to miss this beautiful water fall.

Cakes W — Google review

Interesting monument. Much smaller than expected (it's about 6 ft tall or so?) and in the middle of an intersection so it's hard to get a good look at unless you want to stand in traffic. The whole town follows a Boll Weevil theme which was kinda cool

Alan R — Google review

Cute downtown with the best bug statue I've ever seen!

D K — Google review

It is a great monument with a meaning behind it. I always enjoy the atmosphere when attending festivals here!

Dylan C — Google review

Cool monument paying homage to the bug that put Enterprise on the map (kinda). Don’t be afraid to take a photo in front of the statue. It appears to be in the middle of the street, but cars will go around you!

Matthew J — Google review

Exactly what I expected. Read about it many years ago, and I was close by - had to see it.

RG T — Google review

Be careful. The monument is in the middle of the street under a red light in the middle of town. There's a large.parking lot nearby. Don't forget about the boll weevil mural nearby.

Lee L — Google review

A unique slice of American History! Whenever I visit someplace new, I always enjoy delving into it's civic history. It was a beautiful day to explore and to understand the Boll Weevil's significance to Enterprise, AL.

Analisa P — Google review

The Boll Weevil monument is what puts the small town of Enterprise Alabama on the map. Worth taking a look if passing through on your way to the Florida beaches.

Scenic state park & hiking area featuring a waterfall, sinkholes, campsites & a small lake.

Quiet and pretty campground with clean restrooms and showers. Spots are a bit snug but our 35 foot 5ver fit fine.Trails to the water are nice and the picnic area at the pond is well kept and pretty. The road to get in is a bit steep up and down but not as bad as it looks once you drive it.

Rich M — Google review

Beautiful and clean we will definitely stay here again. The falls are awesome and the trails and campsites are very well kept and the host as well as the rangers are super nice and very accommodating. We love this place.

Joshua P — Google review

Who would have guessed there was such a high waterfall in Florida? Easy boardwalk around the fall. Does have stairs, so a wheelchair would be tricky and would take two helpers to be safe, but it could be done, well, within reason. Magnolias were in bloom May and the fall is lush with ferns and moss. Lots of dragonflies and butterflies. Plenty of picnic tables around, restroom was nice and there is a swimming beach. Could do the Florida Caverns in the same day if you stay somewhere close.

Expandacraft B — Google review

We stayed at Falling Waters State Park Campground for one night on our way west out of FL. Upon arrival we wished we had planned on a longer stay. Shortly after arrival they had a bad storm move over the panhandle, so we only had a few hours to explore. There is plenty more to do in this beautiful park. The campground is secured and very well maintained. The gravel sites are level. All sites have power and water hook ups. The bathrooms/showers look very new. The garbage dumpster and dump site is close but not to close. The camp host actually came around to warn each camper that there was a tornado watch issued for our county and that we should run to the bath house if we needed to.We will stay again if in the area. Oh yeah, the price was very affordable.

Lisa B — Google review

Very lovely place to camp. There are hiking trails, a swimming lake, sand volleyball court, horseshoes and waterfalls to experience. There is a swing set at the campground and a bigger playground at the beginning of the hiking trail area. Bathrooms are nice and clean with several showers and a family shower area. There is electricity and water, a fire ring, and a picnic table but no cooking grill at any of the sites. Very shaded and cozy.

Amanda R — Google review

Falling Waters is a stopover more than a destination. If you need an overnight close to I-10 in the Panhandle, this is a good choice. Campground is nestled in a pine forest with clean bathhouse, dishwashing station, fire ring, picnic table, 48 over-the-air TV stations. One bar Verizon. Site 17 is large and fairly level, but no footpath to bathhouse or trash. Stretch legs from long drive with boardwalk to waterfall overlook. Butterfly garden is newly planted with no flutters in sight. Peaceful retreat for panhandle rest.

Sheric A — Google review

We drove nearly 2 hours to check out this waterfall after feeling cooped up inside after our college closed during Covid 2020. I was honestly underwhelmed and a bit disappointed at the waterfall itself. It was advertised as the Florida’s largest / longest waterfall but when we saw it, it was just a meager stream falling 70 feet. Regardless, we had a great friend-reunion and it was a fun walk for the dogs and exercise for us. The area is mostly flat.

James J — Google review

Beautiful park, board walk to the waterfall. Clean and quiet with plenty of parking at the point to get on the trail.

Dennis B — Google review

Ventured here before the Florida Caverns state park, and it was worth the stop. It's a smaller park, but the area is pretty, and the waterfall was flowing after overnight rains. The area is ADA accessible so it's a nice paved trail down to the waterfall. That area is actually in the central time zone, so we got an extra hour to check it out. It's a nice park to check out if you're in that area.

Brooke M — Google review

This is such a beautiful state park. The sites are easy to get in and out of and the campground is clean. I only stayed for an over night stay so I didn't get to see the waterfall but I will definitely be back!

TheRV P — Google review

Beautiful area, clean showers, plenty of space between neighbors. Easy back in sites.

Peggy — Google review

Very dry, so waterfalls were not flowing. There are plenty of beautiful trees showing color and trails to hike or ride bikes.

Ann S — Google review

Very well maintained, all of the trails aren't quite open, but they do have a detour to get to the lake, the walk to the falls is really short, very easy to do in 30 minutes or less. The water fall was labeled moderate and was very beautiful!

Sara H — Google review

Very beautiful park in Spring. The view is nice, it's clean and there is quite a bit to do and see with lively facility. The waterfal is awesome. A few shorter trails, camping, large pavilion, lake to swim.

Visiting the center was the highlight of our vacation. The group size was limited making it comfortable to move as a group to observe the varity of felines as well as hear the educational presentation. The felines are well cared for with clean, good size enclosures. I encourage anyone thinking of visiting Bear Creek Feline Center to do so, it is well worth the cost of enterance. You must prebook, no drop ins.

We had a great weekend girls trip at Bear Creek, it was such an amazing experience. The staff was excellent, the place was so clean and the animals were very healthy looking & well taken care of. It was great to be able to get close and interact with these animals. A must do at least once! And we will definitely go back. I would def recommend.

Bear Creek is the perfect place to visit if you want an experience of a lifetime all the while helping big cats and the wonderful people who care so deeply for them! Jim and Bertie do a great job off welcoming guests, and answering all your questions. To give you an idea of their hospitality, my father and I were greeted with hot coco along with the other guests, we were offered multiple refreshments cookies, and even post tour we had a BLAST talking with them and sharing stories! These are the people who truly care for the animals, they're dedicated to offering the best care possible, while educating the public about the big cat and wild cat conservation. If you're ever in the area do yourself a favor and visit! Thank you Bertie and Jim for being such amazing people and hearing my reptile ramblings when I visited :)

We volunteered to be interns recently and learned about the new Sanctuary Status designation from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) awarded a year ago allowing Bear Creek Feline Center to be a forever home for Class 1, 2 and 3 animals. They currently house more than a dozen animals. They operate in accordance to all state and federal regulations. Their mission is to educate people about the importance of wildlife conservation and preservation.

Wow, what an amazing experience! This was easily the highlight of our vacation. Jim, Bertie, and their team really made us feel like part of their family, and we interacted with the cats more than we imagined. We learned a lot, and enjoyed the history and knowledge they shared with us. They gave us a deeper appreciation for wild cats, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area! We would recommend this to anyone. Thank you BCFC for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

I really enjoyed this place. The owners are very nice and helpful. The cats are beautiful. One of the serval cats was tame and friendly. Well worth the donation in my opinion.

The Bear Creek Feline Center truly is a one of a kind sanctuary. The dedication to providing a respectful environment for their incredible animals is truly commendable. The way they treat them is beyond amazing, with utmost respect and care. During our visit, we had the privilege of observing the wildcats and even interacting with some under controlled conditions. The staff's knowledge and passion were evident throughout the tour. I wholeheartedly recommend this sanctuary for an educational and heartwarming adventure.

Anne-Sophie T — Google review

Such an awesome place. The owners really care about these animals. I would highly recommend doing an educational tour if you're in the area, this place deserves the support! Absolutely loved our visit.

My wife and I had an amazing experience with Bertie, Jim, James, and all of the cats at BCFC. The Class 1/2/3 felines are cared for around the clock and anyone can volunteer to assist. I highly recommend stopping by (after calling to set up a visit, of course) for this unique opportunity!

Michael Y — Google review

We had such a wonderful and memorable time at Bear Creek Feline Center today! Bertie, Jim, and the entire staff are top notch and have tons of knowledge to share while also making visitors feel at home at the sanctuary. The felines are so very well cared for here, and getting the chance to assist with their feedings, learn about the different species, and get up close to them was incredible. I would highly recommend this educational adventure--simply put, BCFC is run with LOVE : )

You'll be so happy you came here! The cats are so beautiful and so well cared for. They are loved and respected. The owners are so dedicated to these gorgeous and mighty creatures. Very informative crew of volunteers that spend my much time with the resident cats. Thanks for letting us be a part of it!

Gypsy S — Google review

Absolutely recommend this to everyone! It was an amazing and unique experience to be able to see the cats closely and interact with them. The staff is extremely friendly and personable. Safety is the top priority and you are very safe!

Matthew S — Google review

Uhhmm, what can I say other than WOW! This is a must do for anyone. You'll be impressed with the admiration and care shown to these big cats by Jim and Bertie. They can tell you anything and everything you could ever want to know about the cats under their care. Go ahead, ask them anything...whatever they don't know, Jim will go ahead and make something up for you (kidding, but he will.) It was a great time and you'll definitely gain a new respect for these cats. When you're face to face with a Mountain Lion offering him up a chicken leg, you'll quickly understand just how big and powerful these cats are. This certainly isn't a walk through the zoo to look at animals in cages! This is a bonified educational experience that teaches you everything you could ever want to know while offering a hands on experience that you will not find anywhere else. You will not be disappointed! Smaller groups or pairs work best (2-3 people)

Underground caves offering guided tours, plus trails & freshwater springs.

My family and I visited here last weekend on May 23rd 2022. We had never been here, as well as never even knew Florida Caverns State Park existed but had the best time doing the cave tour with our Tour Guide Tim. Also the Owls and the museum were really neat to see. I definitely recommend this place as it was a family fun place. We'll definitely be coming back to do the Cave Night Tour as well as some of the nature trails and get to experience what we couldn't on our short day trip!! 5 stars all the way. Highly recommend. Kid friendly.

Brandi C — Google review

Breathtaking scenery! Took the family out to explore Florida Caverns and drove few hours to come here. It was well worth it! It really is an amazing experience. Everyone in our family (2 adults 3 children) was super impressed with this visit. We purchased our tickets online. For five people we paid $36-$37 and there’s $5 state park access fee per vehicle. Our tour guide Mia was very helpful, knowledgeable and fun. She walked us through the entire cave and took the time to explain how it was discovered, what it represents and shared many more insightful information. Humidity level is very high inside the cave thus, I recommend wearing something active and comfortable. Also there are many low clearance paths along with stairs and puddles filled with water so it’s also recommended to wear appropriate shoes that are comfortable and yet provide good protection and grip. There are some low clearance points inside the cave where if you’re a tall person you need to really duck down to avoid hitting your head. If you have knee or back problems you may find this activity to be a bit challenging though. You can bring your own cameras and take as many pictures as you want even with camera flash. Overall it’s a great experience. I highly recommend visiting this hidden natural treasure to everyone.

Our family really enjoyed the tour with our guide Tim! Kids from 5-7 enjoyed it. It was hot outside but cool in the cavern! A 1 hour tour. The gift shop was reasonably priced. Will go again. There was a beautiful swimming hole towards the back of the park. Wonderful experience.

A F — Google review

I had a very fun time here; not only are there the cavern tours, but there is also a campground, small museum, and walking trail in the park too. I had fun on the cavern tours and they were definitely worth it. I saw a deer on the walking trails, and it was really cool; however, I also saw a Northwest Florida rattlesnake on the walking trail and almost stepped on it. The walking trail is also very rocky and somewhat difficult. Not ideal for children or disabled folks. That combined with the rattlesnake leaves it with a 4 star review instead of 5.

Summer B — Google review

Very pretty and the tour guide was very educational and friendly and funny. Only down side for the day tour is that it's rather short/small cave. Other then that it's fun. The tour isn't free of course so expect to pay.

KELLY H — Google review

Steele is a good tour guide. My grade-4 class loved our caverns tour, the souvenir shop, and the museum. We were fortunate to have perfect weather.

Brian M — Google review

A very nice visit to the Caverns. It might be challenging for tall people as there are several places the height is four feet, and a few places the width is two feet. The staff were all kind and helpful. There are a few places that feel a little tight, but it still feels pretty open. Being wet and dark, it's can be slippery, but your guide will remind you where those spots are.

Carol M — Google review

The park was amazing the staff was super friendly. We had Jules as our tour guide and was very friendly and informative. The tour was fairly easy and took around 45-50 minutes. We paid to enter the park around 6$ and to do the tour and not just the outdoor trail was about another 15$ per person. I definitely recommend this little Gem it’s worth the stop.

Edgar V — Google review

We added this stop on our road trip and so glad we did. It was a reasonably priced great stop for our family. We went on an hour tour with Lou through the caves , it was beautiful and the tour was unique and informative! The pictures don’t really do it justice, and the gift shop was well stocked and offered ice cream and snacks . We were towing a trailer and had room for us to be able to park. This isn’t far off the interstate so be sure to add it to your Florida trip!

Rebecca B — Google review

Very fun!! I took my boyfriend here because he has never been in a cave and we had a nice time! It was cool inside the cave so it’s a fun way to explore nature while staying out of the sun. Our tour guide was extremely lively and made lots of jokes. At one point they turn off the lights for a few seconds. They also let the kids play with the buttons which seems fun for small children. Overall a good time!

Natalie C — Google review

What a cool experience! Our tour guide, Honeybee, was so knowledgeable and funny. The caverns were huge and like nothing I’ve ever seen before. We also hiked Bluff Trail to Tunnel Cave, which was another great experience. We ended the day with a dip in Blue Hole Spring, which was so refreshing.

This place was beyond words to describe. Something that I would not expect ever to be in Florida. Spent the entire day and a half at this park alone. There's more places nearby just as beautiful to visit. Looking forward to another trip up there. Highly recommended to visit.

The Park staff was very well organized and the park tour guide was very friendly and interesting. It's a great place to bring kids to awaken their exploratory spirit and it's overall a beautiful cave system that's is definitely worth of visiting. I suggest 3-4 h stay time including the 1 h + tour as this park has a lot to offer.

Fabulous park! Caverns are awesome, tour guides are informative. Would be nice if they offered a senior discount. Brand new roads. Signage is adequate. Rebuilding after hurricane. Never here, b4, so I can't compare. Kayak launch, horse camp, primitive camp, group camp, rv camp, with all connections, Inc. sewer spring fed " blue hole" year around 62 degrees. Well planned park.

Visiting Florida Caverns State Park was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we stepped into the caverns, we were amazed by the stunning geological formations and the rich history they hold. The guided tour was informative and engaging, providing insights into the formation of these natural wonders. The park’s above-ground attractions, like hiking trails and picnic areas, were equally impressive, offering beautiful scenery and opportunities for outdoor recreation. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing our overall enjoyment of the park. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or simply looking for a memorable adventure, Florida Caverns State Park is a must-visit destination. Can’t wait to return and explore even more!

The Caverns were awesome! Our guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly. He was very engaging throughout the entire tour and really made our experience much better. There were a few tight spaces, but the cavern is really easy to go through. I'm 6'2, and on the large side, and I was able to get through it easily. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The young lady in the gift store is a blessing to everyone she meets. We stayed at the campground, which is very well kept. Sites are spacious with a hard gravel surface, full hookup, fire pit, large picnic table, and a place to hang your hammock. The bathhouse is kept clean with a laundry right there.

Amazing place. Worth the drive if your on east coast of Florida or middle. At end of parking lot first go to a trail near a dirt road. Walk down about 300 yards and there is a very cool tight cave to go through. Noone seems to know about it unless you hike a small loop trail. Enjoyed the learning about the place.

Brandon H — Google review

Tucked away off the beaten path, just Northwest of the state capital Tallahassee. This state park, like most all Florida State Parks is very well groomed and maintained. It was mandatory to purchase the " guided " tour in order to access the caverns. Which we thought was a bit pricey. 53$ for four. Inside the caverns is a magical place that takes you back in time. The stalagtites and stalagmites were amazing to see knowing they have been formed over the course of earths history. The Florida Caverns are a great example of the complexity and beauty of our planet.

What an awesome park, the history behind it, and the Cave tour wow! We were here for 4 days camping and loved it. The facilities at our campsite were great. Bonus points for the washer and dryer! The cave tour was way more fun than I expected. We did the 2 hour night tour with our 3 kids aged 6,8, and 4 they loved it. Honey bee / Joni was incredible she was so knowledgeable and made the tour so much fun. I just loved her spirit, passion. She truly loves what she does, and made this experience for our family unforgettable. The caves themselves were very big, and impressive with their beautiful formations and the history behind how it was all made to be accessible to the public well that was a story of its own. Would recommend as a great family spot to check out. We will definitely return and be recommending to our family and friends.

We love Florida State Parks. This is one that we have not visited before. We only had a few hours to burn and we visited the caves. So worth visiting if you are short on time or have the whole day to spend. There is camping available at this park.

Phil B — Google review

Nice park for hiking and a visit to the carverns is a must if you are here. They do charge $15 per person for 45 minute guided tour. I do not think you can go into the cave unless you are on the tour. The caverns are great. Plenty of lighting. Some uneven floor and some steps. Also there are several very low ceilings, so if you are taller then that is a little more of an issue. Just need to duck or crouch down. No place do you need to crawl. The cavern formations are spectacular and still actively growing. Outside the caverns, there are some nice hiking trails. The trails are not very difficult, so great for kids. Dogs can use the hiking trails on leash. No dogs inside the caverns.

Amazing state park! Caila (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was an incredible tour guide through the caverns which themselves were wonderful. The blue hole spring was a blast to swim in and we took a lovely hike on the buff trail. Highly recommend to locals and visitors in northwest Florida! I would not recommend young children do the tour since you cannot touch anything and the spaces are a bit confined.

We had a group of 12, including a three year old, that went through this tour and it was fantastic! Our tour guide, Alex, was amazing. He was knowledgeable, funny, and easy going. Our group had everything from young, to older, in shape to very out of shape and we were all able to enjoy the tour. Very glad that we went! Highly recommend!

Rose T — Google review

There are caverns in Florida! What a fun experience, for the whole family. Beautiful place well appointed. Tours run every 30 minutes. Our guide was Sarah, cool guide! Very knowledgeable and funny. Very unique experience ! Not wheelchair accessible. Good trails to hike. Priced fairly. Good experience overall.

This was just such wonderful, wonderful experience. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the whole OK because it was flooded so we only had half a tour but what we saw was so interesting and beautiful. we went on a hike around there and it was kind of rough walking it. Lots of rocks and stumps and it was challenging for me, but I made it but if you’re handicap I would not recommend it. They have a small museum and a gift shop. Was a great fun day

Amazing , go, no regrets, worth it, fun, safe, nature, unique experience for all ages. Gift shop, restrooms, family, couple, singles friendly. A place everyone can come and enjoy, plenty of trails as well. Call them ahead and book advance on line for tours, it can be slow in the morning and empty and fill up packed in the afternoon

I wish i was able to explore on my own, but I understand that the limited self-control of the populus prohibits me from experiencing such wonders freely and without supervision. It's a neat cave. It's not super big, and it costs about $16 for a tour. I probably won't go back . They do have other trails that i did not check out that don't cost money, but you have to pay an entry fee to enter the park.

Alyssa R — Google review

Beautiful park! Things are easily found and staff is very friendly and helpful. Roads are newly paved and marked. Trails were easy to navigate and scenic. VIPs and Host were very friendly. If you’re camping in a long rig just know that in the campground the turns are sharp. Horse camp is so nice with day use.

What a beautiful cave enjoy this experience with my children.. some lovely pictures felt like I needed to share.. Yes it may be a long drive if you're from south Florida going to North Florida but is well worth it and you'll have a lovely time at it . Make sure you get there early on your journeys so you have time to get home.. and the GPS worked fabulous this time so no problems coming and going.. can't remember the name of my tour guide but he was fabulous explain so much and had so much knowledge.. Titanic was going down with the music that was special Loved it.. we all enjoyed his knowledge of the cave.. wonderful group to walk with couldn't ask for anything better that day.. many blessings on your journeys in the state of Florida we have such beautiful parks and beautiful places to explore many many blessings and safe drive..

Camping, hiking, picnicking & bird-watching plus rare trees & plantation home tours high on a bluff.

Wow, highly recommend for camping. The campground sits on the highest ground, and views abound. Suggest camp sites on the west or north end as the speedy drivers like to kick up lots of dust. The hiking trails are very nice. Be sure to visit the Gregory House gift shop for very nicely priced T shirts and other items.

Laid back and fun old Florida. Small dirt road campground with a CCC building in the middle - gave a vibe of 100 years ago. Seemed in the middle of the jungle! Peaceful and quiet camping. And we loved the 10 o’clock tour of the home the next morning. Fascinating to be able to be in a river plantation designed to be able to float during floods and to hear the history of the Florida frontier days. While the roads look a little iffy, we had no problems at all in the RV with a tow. We had to unhook as the site was back in, but with the flat dirt road unhooking and re-hooking the next morning was no problem. Some of the sites are narrow and some are quite roomy. The ranger was very helpful in finding the right spot for us (he was also very nice and extremely knowledgeable about the area and the park.) We chose a site with a very large side yard and enjoyed sitting outside once we thoroughly sprayed ourselves with bug spray. If you have children, I would inspect the site before allowing them to roam. Ours was lovely with thick foliage, but had a pretty steep and unexpected drop on a trail about 12 feet off of the side yard. It was a very peaceful and lovely place with several overlooks and picnic areas. We would camp here again. (They also offer yurts, and we noticed the yurt that was occupied seemed to have very happy campers!)

We stayed in the Cracker Cabin at Torreya — super cute one bedroom on one side with a queen bed (yes a bit to soft but not bad) with a window unit and portable heater (heater worked great on coldest day in Florida ) the middle is a screen patio which on the right side of it is another Pom but has two bunk beds with a unit a/c unit and portable heater - not sure about the beds as we did not sleep in it. Back porch view of woods and nice sunrise - has a fire pit - only bad thing is there is another camping spot super close however no one was there so not sure if they book it.Lots of hikes and state parks in area - no gas station or food venues near

We spent two weeks here and thought it was lovely. Some of the sites are close, but we enjoyed the size and location of the campground.

Torreya State Park is a hidden gem in the heart of Florida. The park offers a unique and diverse outdoor experience, with its stunning bluffs, pristine river, and lush forests.Hiking trails are abundant, catering to both novice and experienced hikers, and the views from Torreya Bluff are simply breathtaking. The park's campground is well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Whether you're into bird-watching, kayaking, or simply enjoying nature, Torreya State Park is a must-visit destination. It's a peaceful and picturesque escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Marsin N — Google review

Torreya is easily one of my favorite state parks in Florida. There's no swimming, but the hiking and the history more than make up for it. Visit the Gregory House if nothing else, it's gorgeous, and they give a tour every day (10 am Eastern), twice a day on weekends (10 & 2). The camping is top notch as well, with facilities and such if that's what you're into, and primitive camping if it's not.

Sara B — Google review

Torreya State Park is tucked away by itself and has a smaller campground at only 29 sites, and it's part of what makes it a great place to get away.Small and remote means peace and quiet. The sites aren't very private, but there aren't many and folks seem to keep to themselves. The bathrooms are small but decent and well-maintained, and there are 30-amp electric and water on each site. Another nice feature is a very clean laundry area. It only has one washer and dryer, but the campground is small enough that doesn't seem to be a problem.Nearby trails, some accessible right from the campground, also make this a good spot to use as a basecamp if you want to get out and explore some of Florida's natural beauty. Also, Gregory House is an 1850s plantation home that you can visit for a guided tour and is within walking distance of the campground.

We absolutely love this State Park. We live in western New York but enjoy travelling, camping and hiking throughout the U.S. We visited this park about 15 years ago and this year we decided to come back. There have been dramatic and devastating changes in the park since we were last there because the park is located within a path frequented by intense storms in the last decade, including Hurricane Michael in 2018, which damaged all of the forests in the park. Despite these challenges, park staff have made amazing efforts to make sure that park visitors can safely visit as much of the park as possible. The campground is great, with spotless bathrooms and water and electric outlets in most sites. We stayed in one the two yurts, which offer a delightful deck with a picnic table, a campfire ring and a gorgeous view into the adjacent forested ravine. We went on the 6-mile challenge hike and were impressed with the work the park has done to make the trails passable despite the many trees that fell during the hurricane. We thought the trail was great as it meandered back and forth through so many beautiful and interesting plant communities giving the hiker a real sense of adventure. Some of the bridge crossings over small streams still need to be repaired and may look intimidating but this 64-year old woman with advanced arthritis in both knees had no trouble getting across any of them. If you don't like an adventure, however, this might not be the best trail for you as stated in the park's description of the trail. We found all of the park staff to be friendly, helpful and hardworking. Please thank them for all they do if you have the chance.

Priscilla T — Google review

We stayed here 2 days in April 2022. We liked the campground. It is small and quiet. Several of the sites are quite narrow. The one we were in we barely were able to get our slide and awning out. They were separated from the adjoining site by established bushes and trees. This made it difficult to back the camper in. (Our camper is long 37 ft.) When reserving look carefully at the pictures to see if you will fit. There is no sewage onsite but a decent dump station about 1/2 miles down from the campground. It had a cool CCC built registration building. There are old but clean bathrooms and shower facilities. There were lots of hiking trails but we didn't get to explore any. We would come back.

I love this place! Best hiking in Florida. Limestone rock outcroppings for fishing. It's remote and peaceful and lovely. I have heard owls and coyotes in the distance at night. We have seen wild boar and deer. On a dark, clear night, you can see the milky way. Be warned the amenities are pretty basic, which is lovely for me, but not for everyone.

Tiffany F — Google review

Website says one of the trails is 6.7 miles. Turned out to be 7.83 miles. Also said it was a moderate hike. It was a hard hike and a challenge for me. Beautiful but challenging.

Hartmann L — Google review

My family and I spent two nights here at the campground. The park is a great place to visit if you enjoy hiking and history. We hiked some of the trails including the Weeping Ridge to the waterfall- small by any standard but still really cool to see in Florida. Be careful, there are copperhead snakes; I nearly stepped on one. The trail to the Confederate earthworks was neat to see.If you are not into hiking or history, I would probably give this park a miss. Most of the trees were destroyed in the hurricane a few years ago, so it is lower brush still with some trees. There are tours given at the plantation house at 10AM on weekdays and other times on the weekend (sorry, I didn't catch those times). We really enjoyed it and it was a bargain at $3 a person.

As a state park, this one is truly a great one to visit. The yurt was a lot of fun and air-conditioned. Save space that I didn’t have to pack a tent and everybody was more comfortable.

Beautiful historical place. Conferate battles and supply area. Extremely rare tree only found in China, California and this only location. We visited the Caverns and Waterfalls on the same day.

Stayed a couple nights in the Cracker Cabin & really enjoyed it. Did both hiking loops which were a good workout. There's some decent elevation and if you carry a heavy pack, you will get some good AT backpacking prep (for Florida). Torreya has interesting flora. I've seen a few snakes here (copperheads, racers, ribbon) and a gopher tortoise. Interesting birds too. We the Weeping Ridge waterfall & slave cemetary.

Unique state park with interesting trails and great views. It's probably best to visit before the warm weather.Unusual terrain for FL.

This is a really nice hiking trail. With lots of different plants and wildlife. And a lot of history. We will have to go back to hike more, there are long trails that we couldn't do in a day.

The trails behind the Gregory House are the best. Go down one trail and walk beside the river and back up the other trail to return to the Gregory House.

It was a nice experience. I personally love the outdoors. My fiancée is a true Miami guy and he even enjoyed it himself. It was a nice walking trail and the cabin was nice and cozy. For those of you who don’t know, bring your own fitted sheets, pillow & blankets. There is a fire pit which you are able to use freely, they ve firewood available on site along with ice for less than $5 (bring cash as it’s cash only). The registration office is always open and there are games and movies located inside along with a small gallery of informational stuff. At night if you sit outside you can see a million starts and you could even hear all the animals. There was also a little playground available on site.Things recommended to bring for first timers1. Towel for when you shower2. Shower sandals3. Body Wash / Soap4. Pillows5. Fitted Sheets (I used a queen size)6. Blanket to cover yourself7. Fire Log8. Stuff for s’mores !(Don’t forget the stick for the marshmallow (We ended up getting one of the garden stakes at dollar tree to use))9. Bug spray10. Sunblock11. Shoes !12. Coal if you want to use the bbq grill13. A cooler with ice in it !14. Water15. Sandals/crocs to put on easily when you want to walk around the campsite & to go to the bathroom !16. Hat to protect you from the sun when you’re walking on the trails17. A neck fan if this is your first time and you’re not sure how you’ll deal with the Florida heatSomething that is optional also is a walking stick, it is not needed but recommended. my fiancée had an easy time going down but going up he wished he had oneYou are not along at night either, there is a ranger on duty and you will be provided a number to his/her cell phone & landline.

What a great hike experience. No flat Florida here. Lol! The Apalachicola River was beautiful. There is remaining damage from Hurricane Michael but that is an education and does not take away from the adventure. The stone bridge was cool. Missed out on seeing the waterfall because we ran out of daylight, shorter winter days. Great park. We'll definitely go again

We went here for my daughter’s field trip and we had so much fun. We’re definitely gonna come back. They had all kinds of cool animals and sharks in stingrays fish and hermit crabs, and starfish they had awesome creatures and tanks that little ones are able to have a hands on experience

This place was pretty amazing!!Nobody hovering over you, you get to go at your own pace. The animals are all gorgeous and intriguing. The only reason it got 4 stars is because the place needs a serious update!Half the buttons didn't work to make the sounds.. they need donations.. like badly! It's such a cool place and I want it to stay intimate like that, especially for the price.. but they do need ae renovation! And I 100% believe they're worth donating to! Because they TRULY are an awesome place!!

A lovely and plentiful aquarium with helpful and amazing staff, volunteers and people! I had a fun time learning about all of the aquatic life here. The ability to have touch tanks makes it 100x better and more personal when interacting with each specimen. The gift shop is also a great place to get a souvenir when visiting from out of state!!

Bree D — Google review

Awesome little aquarium! Kids had a blast and us adults had a lot of fun too! There's many touch tanks so we were able to hold a lot of different species of animals. Decent priced to get in and different photo opportunities outside with the fake gators, turtle, crab and sharks. I suggest anyone who visits reads their mission statement and "about us" on their website. This will give an idea of how the aquarium got started and some background on the people who own it. Makes the experience a little more special I think. Would def recommend!

Haven't been here is years but was excited to revisit. The place did not disappoint! Very interesting displays, especially the Picklearium. I even learned some things, too

Rather small, but gave a good glance at some animals in the Gulf. I enjoyed it overall, got to hold a Horseshoe Crab. 🦀There is a small fee but it was reasonable for the experience.

So underrated! This place is fantastic!! The help they do for us Floridians and for the wildlife is unmatched. Please consider taking your friends and family here for the day! They have several interactive tanks and lovely fish! Plus, an octopus and many nurse sharks. We were able to see the sting rays during feeding time, and I was a big fan of the eels. Don't forget to check out the turtles!

One of my favorite places to go. The kids love the opportunity to learn about the animals in the ocean. My son was completely fascinated by the touch tanks. He loved the scallops and even got a book about them in the gift shop.

Very cool! Love it and will be back for sure!!! Thank you for doing what you do to help the animals in your area! Thank you for an amazing, fun experience. We took our (old teens) and ourselves the first day so we could know what to look out for! We came and learned more than I had planned.

Had an awesome time today here at Gulf Specimen Lab! Was shocked by how much there was to look at here, and my expectations were blown away. If you’re local to the surrounding areas, I recommend getting a members pass because they hold events here, and different activities for the Family to enjoy! Me and my grandmother had such a fun time learning about all the different little critters that live right next-door to us in our lovely ocean❤️ along with all the fun activities, we learned that this is a rehabilitation center. Most of these animals are unable to return to the wild due to health problems, and this staff does an amazing job at making sure All their needs are met! I love the “kill two birds with one stone” idea, Rehabilitating these lovely animals while also teaching the public about ocean life!!! If you Happen to be in the area, it is well worth the drive to check this place out!!!!

My son and I went here and had a good day. Touch tanks were a hit. Lots of cool things to pick up and look at. Not a crazy amount of things to see but worth a stop in.

Cory G — Google review

What an awesome aquarium!! In Panacea from Tallahassee, the $15 admission was more than worth it to see all the incredible exhibits here at Gulf Specimen. Everything from a huge amount of touch tanks with starfish and horseshoe crabs to nursing sharks and a sea turtle on display. A great way to spend an hour or so, especially if you may have kids in tow. Would definitely recommend!!

Katherine L — Google review

Enclosures are way too small for the sharks and big rays. One ray was causing the other to bleed during the feeding as it was frenzied. Many tanks were dirty and had no habitat to them, just concrete. If you don't have the funds or staff to do something properly, relocate the animals. Research and education should not come at the expense of animal care and treatment. The other tanks for smaller fish and animals were spaced well. The ray feeding attendant was great at her speech and friendly, as were other staff. Good gift shop and good information around the facility about the importance of preservation.

Danika C — Google review

I stumbled on this place by accident and so glad I did!It is within walking distance of the RV park we are staying in. It is non profit, so you will not see all the high tech here. However, it has many pools for viewing different species of sealife. They also have several pool allowing you to handle different species. I discovered many of their sea animals are sent to zoos, wildlife parks and universities for aquatic studies. This is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and learn about sealife in the Gulf.

Diane M — Google review

Our family really enjoyed this aquarium. We learned a lot, the staff was extremely helpful. I would love to see the animals in more enriching/larger tanks someday, I know that’s a big expense. The animals seem well taken care of and I love that many of them were rescued. The sea turtle was my favorite!

We had a blast and the staff was incredible!! We will be returning as it can be an all day adventure. I would recommend this park to anyone passing through or wanting to have a day full.of fun with the family 👪 😊. We did the full zip line trail and got to view some of the animals. We will be returning to view the rest of this wonderful hidden gem 💎.

Beautiful outdoors area with a lots of animals and Interesting dinosaur sculptures. I did not go zip lining but the people who were doing it looked like they were having a blast and there were a ton of lines to zip across. It was not very expensive to go here either, I did not know what to expect and can say that I was very impressed with this museum. I would absolutely go back.

Go here for sure! They not only have a cool zip line area for kids, but they have a nature area as well. The historical area was informational and neat, and the nature area was amazing! Cool animals and trails. Only started the nature trail, but want to finish it next time I'm in the area.

Wow. Went not knowing what to expect. Encountered school field trip. We were not in any hurry so just joined in with the crowd. The Phipps Gallery was featuring artwork by Ernest M. Lee whom we are familiar with. We took the walk to see the animals. I liked the cypress trees the best. Lots of historical information. We visited a one-room schoolhouse. A railway inspector car and the gift shop. There is a cafe on the premises and lots of tables outside also. Zip lines for adults and kids. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Beautiful place.

My daughter was a little too short for the mid grade zip line and the young one turned out to be a bit too young for her. My son loved the mid level adventure. You need an adult to go with the child*The rest of the outside area was nice with the different animals and historical pieces. Wonderful for a nice day.

A totally awesome experience! Took my my daughter, who’s 11, we both loved the ropes course. Then enjoyed walking the grounds to sight see and read up on the local history. The walking trails are beautiful - take your camera.

We enjoyed walking around and seeing all the animals. The Museum staff and volunteers keep the property very well maintained. Everything was neat and tidy. The animals all looked amazing, and their areas were set up where you could see them easily. It was very hot the day we went, but there was plenty of shade to make it an enjoyable visit. Having a nice Café on-site to sit down to cool off while you ate was an extra bonus. Their lunch choices were very good and very tasty, as well as reasonably priced. It was also nice to have a gift shop to pick up something as a reminder about a great family day.

Pamela M — Google review

Great place. Large….something like 50+ acres. Agree it’s more like a zoo but animals appeared to be healthy and in their natural habitat. Agreed that reptiles should have larger homes but we were able to see almost all the animals. The tree activities would be great for younger folks. It was fantastic to be that close the animals and they were’t afraid. If I saw a black bear or panther in my backyard you’d hear me screaming in Texas!!

Suzanne M — Google review

This place is always absolutely wonderful. Even with it being a 100° outside. As long as you go in the morning because they open at 9. You will be just fine, and the kids will have a blast. Even if you don't have kids, you will still have a good time. They have a tree to tree adventure and zipliness all over the place, They also have a playground and lots of animals. I believe this place is definitely for all ages. You will have a wonderful time.!!

My favorite museum/zoo in the panhandle! The historic sites are beautiful and well maintained, and I love how all of the animals are rehabilitated rather than bred in captivity. The animals have a very realistic habitat rather than small, confined spaces. A very diverse museum that represents Old Florida in an interactive environment. 10/10

We had a GREAT time! I used to take my children and they went on field trips here. It was always such a treat. Now I have a Grandbaby and we took her for the first time. Her favorites were the sheep and the pigs! The otter was quite lazy and slept for our entire visit. What a great day. (The picture of the dinosaur is made only of car parts).

Daylite T — Google review

My boys went to zip line there. They absolutely loved the experience. Trainers were very friendly and instructed kids well. Please note that if thunders are in the area, the zip line place will be closed for further notice. We experienced this type of close-down twice in three days. I guess it’s pretty common during the rainy season. Parents, bring bug sprays and wear sneakers, mosquitoes and ants in the late July will annoy you for sure. I love most Jim Gary’s animal sculptures made of abandoned car parts. They look so live and beautiful. Oh, we encountered a golden lizard too, a live one not a sculpture.

Xiaoli M — Google review

Incredible!! If you enjoy seeing beautiful nature in Florida from an exhilarating view literally from the top of trees, visit the Tallahassee Museum and enjoy multiple fun zip lines and obstacle course up high in the tall tree tops! It’s very challenging but extremely fun and safe!

This was a fun little place! Definitely a good place to bring the family for a half day excursion. There's plenty of animals to see and some interesting historical buildings as well!

This is an outdoors museum. They have bears, white tail deer, Florida cougars, bald eagles, red tip owls, wolves, various birds, foxes, to name a few. The lake encroaches on the property which makes for beautiful cypress forest. There are various dinosaur sculptures by Jim Gary. He used old car parts from the 1950's, 60's, and 70's. Whimsical and creative. The walkways are easy to navigate. Highly recommend the museum.

Marylou K — Google review

I went here March 2022 and another time afterwards and my kids and I had a blast. They had a lot of different activities so no one should be bored. There’s zip lining, a nice park, a place to get brunch and drinks, exhibits and much more. I’ve been here twice but I plan to go again. Definitely something nice to do during the weekend. Wasn’t too pricey either!

Cristiana H — Google review

The Tallahassee Museum has a lot to offer for a low admission price. Nature trails, animal exhibits, history exhibits, and canopy walks and zip lines. Strolling through the tree tops has an additional charge, but the area is so beautiful it is worth it. The animals are extremely well cared for and have a variety of enrichment items to interact with. On top of it all, they participate in the SPP (species protection plan) for the critically endangered red wolf! The grounds are very well kept and so are the exhibits themselves. There is most certainly something for the whole family to enjoy here.

We have been to the museum several times for day trips and have also done some night prowls. The night prowls are our favorite! We became members and our son is going to one of the summer camps this year. Very knowledgeable staff especially on the night prowls! Playground, food, tree walk,

We went on a field trip today with my child's school. It was a fantastic experience, and the kids had fun. It is a lot of walking. There is a playground, animals, metal dinosaurs, and a farm area. The metal dinosaurs were a huge hit! Will I be back? Probably for the next field trip.

Kayla R — Google review

All local animals found in Florida/Georgia. A lot of them are rescue animals found hurt or needing healthcare. Nice sized animal exhibit, very cool wooden playground and for the thrill seekers there is zip lines and obstacle courses! Little ones had a blast!

This place is definitely much closer to a zoo than a museum and pretty much all of it except a very small center is outdoors. This will not be very accessible to everyone as there's some parts that are dirt, mulch, gravel and boardwalk. However, the majority of it is shaded which is nice and the views were beautiful. All the animals had great big and very natural enclosures and all seemed healthy, which is always nice to see (I do wish their reptile enclosures were larger as they certainly have the space for it). We even got to see deer treading through swamp water which was new to me! The place is dotted with different flora all around as well. And my favorite part was trying to find the foxes up in the trees!! They also had metal prehistoric creatures sporadically placed around the property! It was neat!

Ryder M — Google review

Lovely place to visit and spend time. Plenty to walk around. Great animal exhibits. Lots of animals to view. Some cool history, but is more of a zoo sanctuary than a museum. Regardless worth the visit. Spent 4 hours checking everything out.

Fun time. So interesting to see such great wildlife exhibits in a museum! The staff are doing a great job maintaining this place!!

If you're thinking, "the state capital of a tourist state must have a fantastic museum," then you don't know Tallahassee. This is less of a city museum/zoo and more of a Billy Bob's Gator Emporium where you're left wondering if you did actually find the right place. Don't get me wrong, the staff seemed to care, and the animals were taken care of, but it was also in the middle of the woods surrounded by swamps, and you could tell.Probably my biggest complaint is the one bridge over the swamp that was pretty rotted and felt unsafe to be on the entire time. I'm not talking about turning brown and peeling paint, I'm talking squelching wood that leaks water like a sponge and leaves an indent of your foot. On the other hand, the bridge around the gators actually seemed to be in good repair, which was relieving.I suppose if I had realized that Tallhassee was a fairly rural city, none of this would have been surprising. It was just surprising coming from another Florida city and having expectations for the state capital to appear something like Orlando, Jacksonville, or Tampa. Just know what to expect. I would describe it as a nature walk around a small collection of late 1800s farm houses that also has a couple of native animals, and sometimes you see a metal dino sculpture.

Park

Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park is a popular destination known for its riverboat tours, swimming, and snorkeling opportunities. The park boasts of a natural spring that is surrounded by Spanish moss and has an otherworldly aqua glow. It has been used as a filming location for movies such as Tarzan's Secret Treasure and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. With 1.

We love this place, the water is nice, the park is always clean including the bathrooms and grills. The hotel and gift shop is beautiful andbstaff is friendly. The only negative is if you get the covered tables by the woods you need to watch for ticks.

Amber S — Google review

Beautiful fresh water lagoon! The water is cool, since it comes from under ground, and is super refreshing on hot days. There is a boat ride you can take and see lots of swamp wild life: manatees, alligators, fish, snakes, birds, turtles, etc. There is a public swimming area with swimming for little kids and adults. For those adventurous enough, the swimming area has a 20ft platform people can safely jump off of. We took our 3yr old on a boat ride, swimming area, and ice cream. Many others picnicked and grilled.

Aaron K — Google review

Phenomenal highly recommended a trip here and you need to go on the boat ride! We saw manatees, alligators and other wildlife on the boat! The water is so clear. The boat ride is cheap and very informative. The guide was awesome and knowledgeable! Do not miss going here when you are in the area! “The Hood” oh and the lodge is old so it’s got history and that’s cool. Black lagoon!

The H — Google review

Visited this park to do some research with my buddy. It was one of the nicer parks we have visited on this trip. It had a beautiful clear spring where you can swim (I did not go swimming), walking trails, and pretty buildings. The Lodge has a nice public bathroom. The walking trails were well maintained and filled with interesting plants and wildlife. I appreciated all the informative signs around the park. This would be a great spot to visit for a relaxing day if you are in the area.

Ball D — Google review

I stayed at the Lodge and it was lovely! The beds were very comfortable! And breakfast was fantastic. The boat tour was very enjoyable, relaxing and informative. We saw many different birds, turtles, alligators and manatees. Due to the rain we did not get to walk the trails, but hopefully next time.

Lee M — Google review

Nice park. You can see Manatees if you time it right. People were swimming and jumping off the deck. The water temperature stays consistent. Very nice gift shop. The food in the Restaurant was good. The only negative is they can't seem to keep their tour boats running. Not sure if that is a state issue or a local park issue.

Trish — Google review

Lovely grounds, swimming and picnic area. Absolutely no service inside. In dining room or snack shop. Multiple workers but none that seemed interested in any form of customer service.

Faye R — Google review

Discovered this gem today. If you've never been, there is a huge lodge that you can stay overnight. A spring fed swimming area. And a boat ride through the spring run. The boat ride is additional cost from the park admission. On the boat ride, you will see lots of alligators, sea cows, birds and turtles. The guide will give you a lot of info about the park and how it was founded. There is also an ice cream shop in the lodge. The old 1950's movie, Creature From the Black Lagoon was filmed here.

Kevin C — Google review

You will see wildlife on the boat tour. Our tour guide was awesome. I really enjoyed the nature experience. Saw multiple manatees, alligators, various birds and turtles! The shop has hot food and cold beverages to chose from as well. Great little store and park to visit.

Bianca D — Google review

We loved visiting Wakulla Springs! It's a perfect, quiet place to spend a beautiful day. If we didn't live 300 miles away we'd go on a super regular basis. Sweet little spot.

Cassandra B — Google review

This is a must-do attraction if you’re anywhere near. Buy the river boat tickets ahead of time (make reservations a week in advance). This was the highlight of our trip to Tallahassee. We saw probably 30 alligators, hundreds of fish and birds, 4 manatees, and so many pretty views. There is a swimming area (which just happened to have a gator in it) with jumping platforms. The spring is pristine and such a treat to be able to experience. The lodge is beautiful, too.

Jeremy G — Google review

The boat tour is a great place to see wildlife. We had a great tour guide (tall, young gentleman). A nice fresh water spring with a high dive to swim in. There are also some nature trails you can walk.

Reid B — Google review

Oh yes. Except for the occasional loud person, who spouts profanity before jumping off the diving platform, this place is family fun. Cool water that's clear and clean. Two platforms for jumping into the spring waters. Trails to explore. The boat ride is a must, at least once.

Paul V — Google review

We took the boat ride and it was great. We saw a lot of native Wildlife including alligators and manatees. If I can make one suggestion it would be that our guide spoke louder because he was really funny and informative at the same time.

Wanda B — Google review

We were on the boardwalk watching manatees in Blue Spring State Park, when our kids asked... mom/dad, where’s the worlds largest spring? Well… we didn’t know the answer to that question, but I guess that's when Google comes to your rescue :-) We googled right away and voila… what a surprise… the worlds largest spring is in the state we were visiting and it’s located in Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park. It’s a pretty long detour on our way back to midwest, but we’re already in Florida, so why not drive a little bit more and create some more memories in this beautiful Sunshine state? We’re glad we did, and got to see the worlds largest spring!!!

Keertu A — Google review

We were there this year to enjoy the grounds and do some hiking. In the past, we have eaten at their magnificent Thanksgiving Day buffet. I love the architecture and nostagic feel of the inn. We spotted several manatees and a nursing calf this time. So special!

Karen S — Google review

This is so much fun for any age. I'm on the rivers alot, but don't get to see the wildlife like you can here because they are gone before you get near. Plus Manatees are always a special treat!

Suzy H — Google review

Nice state park, some hiking trails, a hotel with restaurant and gift shop. Info booth and a boat tour that is pretty fun. Not pet friendly. We saw manatees, turtles, great blue herons, many other water fowl, lots of fish in the super clear water, and a dozen or so sleeping alligators along the shore. We even saw a deer bedded down in an alligator nest. $8 for the boat tour of appx 45 mins. Lunch at the lodges was very good, and a bit on the pricey side, but they are super slow. So don't plan to make it a quick bite

Janet B — Google review

It was very enjoyable. We had lunch at the picnic tables and even saw a tiny alligator at the sink holes! We were going to go on the boat tour but it was already booked for the day (due to FSU Homecoming traffic)The chairs were super comfy in the lodge and the person behind the counter was super helpful! The water felt great and there weren't very many people swimming!Highly recommend

We didn't get to take the boat tour due to our schedule. Will definitely be back. Beautiful park and the LODGE looked wonderful.

I lived in Tallahassee in the 80s and Wakulla springs was , is, and hopefully will be for years to come the place to beat the heat🥰Moving back to the area, the Springs not as clear. However the park recently went to Electric Tour boats! Bravo WSP!The foods fantastic and if you get a chance to stay at the lodge, do.The staff at the Lodge are cheerful and very helpful. Checking in and out no snags and the rooms are clean. No tv. Thank you

Kiva T — Google review

I have been visiting wakulla springs my entire life. As a child in the 50s and '60s living in Florida with no air conditioning, my mother would bring us here several times a week to enjoy the cool year-rounds 71° water. We would often bring a picnic. At the time there was a snack/ burger/ hot dog bar where the showers are. There was a sunken"tub" with windows, you could look out into the river and watch huge large mouth bass swim by. Glass bottom boats perusing crystal clear waters and watch a" trained" fish jump over a log. The rooms at that time were furnished with original antique beds with little ladders. You climbed up to get into the bed 🙂 it is still an amazing place to go, the jungle cruises still operate and it's never tiring to hear the story of the filming of THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. Do a little research and find out about the history of Ed Ball and his connections to politics in Florida and one of the most powerful families to ever exist in the United States. Nothing is perfect. :-), but holiday buffets are wonderful at wakulla springs and provide an amazing unique venue to enjoy. Book early!

Florida State University is a public university located in Tallahassee, Florida. The school offers a variety of courses and programs in a beautiful campus. The sports program is very successful, and the student body is highly engaged in extracurricular activities.

Wonderful institution with highly renowned and quality professors. Most beautiful campus in the state scattered with aged live-oaks, historic buildings, and an incredible landscape design. Unmatched access to the Florida State Capitol. Tours available through the FSU Visitors Center at the stadium.

As a little kid and following in my dad's footsteps and learning about football in general and then beginning to know about Florida State football and the university as a whole, when I got to my teens I knew there was nothing else to follow and fall in love with except FSU and Florida State football. Now that I'm in my 40's, I've learned alot more about Florida State University, the history...the love and passion and what it means to be an FSU fan.....it's a lifestyle! It's what I share proudly with family and friends. It's the life long dedication I see with older people that go to the football games at Doak Campbell Stadium...it's the Holy Grail of my college football world and nothing will change that because we are Florida...State.... They campus is absolutely gorgeous and we had a great tour here. The area is really nice as well. I can't complain about the weather either since I was born and raised in Florida and it beats the freezing cold. They have good academics and are well recognized, at least in my perspective and I can't see a valid reason I personally wouldn't want to go here - meaning I think it would be a great school to attend. It's also in the states capital, which for my major is a huge perk.

Beautiful campus! Came up for a College Tour. Organized; they seem to do so much for the students to ensure they excel/succeed.

Quinella B — Google review

Watch their sponsors and you know what you will learn. Doesn't have anything to do with real science. It's 99% exactly the stuff which their sponsors are selling which is taught here. Also they ask for endless immunizations to join - even for remote/online learning when never on campus. Tells everything about the corruption here. Money goes in circles ...

Elegant 1820s plantation with a grand home open for public tours, plus stables & lush gardens.

This place is stunning! I have Passed by this plantation multiple times and have never had time to stop. Yesterday we decided to check this plantation out.SO.GLAD,WE.DID. !! The property was GORGEOUS! This place was way bigger than I expected! 3,000 acres, beautiful old builds, the main house was shockingly beautiful! The tour was very educational and informative. LOTS OF HISTORY! I took my teen daughter. She loved it as well! Pebble Hill had so much equestrian history and art. So gorgeous! The staff is extremely friendly! If you haven’t gone! Please take a day and stop by…. You will be glad you did!

A stunning place, and a must visit whether you are a history enthusiast or nature lover.Unfortunately, we arrived around 4:00 pm and learned that the last house tour was at 3:30 pm. However, Don from the Visitor’s Center kindly helped us make the most of the remaining time. We were able to explore the garden area and were mesmerized by its beauty. Great place for weddings and co*cktail parties as well.

Growing up in Tallahassee, I had been to Thomasville on many occasions and visited Pebble Hill Plantation several times. When we got engaged, we toured several venues, but none compared to the to the beautiful oak trees and southern charm of Pebble Hill Plantation. Their events team was communicative and helpful throughout the planning process. They even contacted us when there was a cancellation at their Overflow Cottage because they knew that we were looking to stay on the property the night before the wedding. Elizabeth did a fantastic job making sure we had everything we needed to have an amazing event – she coordinated with several of our outside vendors so that they could deliver items prior to our wedding day. To our great surprise, their services continued throughout the event when their very helpful security services helped jump start a guest’s car. I simply cannot say enough about Pebble Hill Plantation and their events team – it is truly a special place that we will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

If you are in thomasville this place is really cool. Highly recommend the tour as the guides are very knowledgeable on the history of the plantation. It’s fascinating to have a glimpse into the world of the elite of that time period.

Jacob W — Google review

These grounds are magical. I recently did an engagement shoot here and the number of little spots where interesting and creative photos can be taken are fantastic. I highly recommend this location.

Azhar P — Google review

The museum and tour are really more about the houses history as a guest house and hunting lodge for wealthy Ohioans and Yankes than it's history as a plantation. However, the house tour was amazing and very well guided. How can you not like a kitchen that has 5 rooms (to include a pastry room and (2) 1934 GE refrigerators) The dog collar exhibit on the 2nd floor was actually pretty interesting (apparently the spiked collars were to save dogs guarding the flocks from wolf neck bites). But the highlight for me was wandering the gardens and grounds and admiring the moss draped trees. Slavery is very briefly mentioned although you could miss it if you blink.

Knud H — Google review

I traveled 3 hours to photograph a maternity session here and I am so glad I did. The venue and grounds are perfect. There are so many places to take photos on the property, the options are endless.

Rachel G — Google review

Over the years, we have hosted the weddings of both of our daughters at the beautiful Pebble Hill Plantation. Our family's love of the place actually started about 27 years prior when my wife's employer hosted their Christmas office party there. We enjoyed a splendid dinner followed by a tour of the beautifully decorated grounds via a carriage ride -complete with hot chocolate and the entertaining stories of the staff. As a life-long 'southerner', I actually learned that it was there, on their plantation, that the 'hushpuppy' got it's name. By their account, the women cooking the meals for the other residents, would fry up the small scraps of breading and toss em to the dogs gathered around to keep them quiet. As for the weddings, our first in 2017 was an awesome experience - due in part to the beauty of the surroundings and the personalized assistance of the former event coordinator Cara Dollinger. The most recent, in February of this year, was equally as spectacular - despite the torrential downpour which lasted over 24 hours during the event weekend. Just like Cara, the current event coordinator Elizabeth Pulley, swooped in and she and her staff helped to implement Plan B, then Plan C as the rain continued to flood the tent setup as a back-up to the planned outdoor ceremony. In the end, it all went off without a hitch, to include the PH staff security helping with getting the guests and their cars navigate a couple of 'slippery' areas in the parking area. It was at the Sugar Hill Barn which was relatively unaffected despite the 24+ hours of rain. One of the same staff members was back bright and early giving us access as we retrieved our property and cleaned up the mess. From end to end, and over our past 27 years of enjoying it, Pebble Hill Plantation has been a beautiful place to visit and an Awesome place for a wedding!

Me and my family had an amazing time this past weekend. The workers are very nice and helpful, even when they are busy. We stayed in cabin 11A, it was clean, we loved the area it was in.. My kids said they liked the fact, that after everything is closed down they got to go to the field and play.. There were so many kids just running around playing, having a good time. This place is so kid friendly..Me personally I loved that they rented out golfcart at an affordable price!! We will be back!!!!

First time staying, and I highly recommend this place. We were only staying 1 night before moving further South, and they assigned us to a Big Rig site to accommodate my RV and 2 friends trucks. What an awesome, family oriented campground. The children’s play areas are phenomenal. Campsites are spacious. The people are super friendly. Will definitely be stopping by on my next route through.

Took my 11 year old son to Ragan’s family campground for Easter weekend with family friends. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped and beds were comfortable and we had AC. The kids had a blast playing GAGA ball and at the water slide. Adults had a great time fishing, sitting around the fire and playing bingo and other games. The campgrounds are clean, quiet and safe. We will definitely come back and would highly recommend!

We had the best time! Amazing staff, lots of things for the kids to do, and very friendly people were there while we were which made things even better. My only complaint is they were short life guards and would only open the slide for two hours a day, which is definitely a main attraction for the kids.

This family campground is huge and well kept! Although, it has the feel of a quaint little campground! For us it was a blessing as we had evacuated from hurricane Ian with only our most treasured stuff and a change of clothes! We were greeted and treated like family, not guests! Kristi was wonderful with our check in process she immediately called Ms.Diana for assistance. She was courteous and kind even though; I knew she didn't feel her best. Zelda was so nice to go get our firewood. The campground was quiet and relaxing; especially the lighted fountain in the lake! After, driving all day it was nice to relax before bed. Check out was a breeze as well, Ms. Becky was so compassionate and caring she wished us a safe trip home & she makes amazing coffee! Thank you again to Ragans for going the extra mile, they offered true Customer Service!

The Pros-The property is beautiful. The surrounding property is serene. We hiked just around the property for hours during our stay. The staff is friendly and more than willing to answer questions. My son enjoyed the large inflated bounce space and the biggest tether ball set you'll ever see.The Cons -There was raw sewage pouring out into the ground about 15 feet from our BBQ grill and front patio. Twice during our stay we flagged down men on golf carts and pointed the issue out to them who told us they would get the manager and be back. Neither time did anyone come back to the cabin to check out or fix the issue. Speaking of "cabin" the original cabin we had booked had been changed to a "nice cabin" as I was told in the phone before arrival. What we arrived to was a very tiny space that had 2 sets of bunks in a closet sized space and almost the entirety of the space was taken up by a double bed. There were 3 of us and to think that nearly twice the amount of people are allowed to stay in the tiny space has to be a fire hazard, especially since the fire ring was 6 feet from the steps. The inside smelled so bad. They had two commercial sized air fresheners mounted in the 10x15(ish) space making it smell even worse and immediately causing a headache to both my son, and I. When we checked out we, again, mentioned the raw sewage, but this time to the office ladies who were horrified.I would advise anyone making reservations to not book any of the cabins on the 10 row. The water park area was not open even though all of the fountains inside we're going making it appears open. The pool was open, but the pool floor was slimy and covered in algae. The zero entry was actually slippery and dangerous.

So stoked to make plans to come again with our Ranger, Camper, Friends and Family..... Yay!

If you are planning to stay in the cabins, this review is for you:First, the website has a list of items the rustic include and do not include. If you missed it like I did, do not be surprised when you get there and realize that the rustic cabins DO NOT HAVE A BATHROOM OR ANY RUNNING WATER AT ALL. I feel like that needs to be explained much better on the website. The only things in the rustic cabins (aka sheds) is a microwave, coffee maker, a small chair, a bed frame made of 2x4s and plywood, and mattresses from the 80s that have the worst holy plastic covering over them with a little dirt sprinkled on top (no flooring, no walls aside from all plywood). The door is locked on the outside by a master lock and on the inside by a lock you'd see in a bathroom that holds the bathroom stalls locked. Thankfully when we stayed here, our friends were with us so we just bunked with them in their RV. I would not have felt comfortable sleeping in a shed with mattresses that appeared to have been slept on by thousands of people. I did bring my concern about the mattresses up to the front desk the first day we were there but was informed they didn't have any new mattresses and when I said they looked like they were from the 80s she said, "yeah they probably are." I also called after we left for the weekend to ensure management knew that we did not stay in their "cabin" and let them know it was time for a remodeling of them, they just said okay, we will tell the management. As for the activities, my kids enjoyed the tie dying of t-shirts and the pool area. This pool area is quite old and dated but it served its purpose of entertainment. This whole place needs a full update. I did want to end on a good note and say that there were several employees that were around that were super friendly! The staff were great with the kids and I especially wanted to mention a super friendly staff (I never caught his name) that helped us load the firewood we purchased, came to get the trash from the campgrounds and I even saw him in the store hanging out. He definitely was the highlight of our stay!

My wife and I stayed here in our pop-up with our 3 year old daughter and had a blast! Don't expect anything fancy but we had so much fun. The bathrooms were always very clean and the staff for the most part was very friendly. When we are camping we know we are kind of "roughing" it so older amenities don't necessarily bother us as long as they are clean. The water slide was a ton of fun, we couldn't keep our toddler off of it! I even went down it and had the most fun I've had in years, it was pure enjoyment! They also had a cool little general store that you could get anything from fishing supplies and things for your RV to pizza and ice cream. They also had disc golf, putt putt golf, multiple playgrounds, a pool table, arcade games, a bounce pad and mat and tons of activities for the kids. I'm sure there are certain people that this campground may not be for but my family and I had an amazing weekend here! I'm hopeful they faired well in the storm because my family and I are already planning our next trip!

This campground is truly for the whole family! They have a small water park, splash pad, pool, beach area, games, billiards, entertainment hall, putt-putt, craft and activities room... and much more. We only stayed one weekend but will definitely be back. The staff here go above and beyond what I've experienced at most campgrounds. When you check in they escort you to your site and make sure you can work everything properly or if you need help. The camp store is full of anything forgotten plus fun stuff. The water park and pools were so clean! The bathhouses were very nice as well! I'm impressed! Oh, and they rent cabins.

We camped here 5 years back and it was a lot nicer . It’s nice now don’t get me wrong . We had a lot of fun this past week here but it definitely needs some TLC in a lot of areas . Putt Putt golf was a challenge . It’s so messed up. Tether ball was broken. Animal statues were broken up. The mining station was nasty. We waited until after noon a couple days due to no lifeguard or staff showing up to swim or slide. The park was empty like it had a curse or something. I mean empty. We asked around . According to a staff member a child died from an ameba after visiting here in 2020 so it’s not been the same. Not sure if that’s why the lax of certain areas and the attitude of some staff but yeah it needs some love and it will shine bright again. It’s really a beautiful park but it definitely needs some love .

This RV resort has the potential to be an awesome family experience and opportunity for making fun memories. The set up is great and all the amenities are perfect for kids. They even appear to have plenty of workers. But their delivery of a friendly and inviting environment is severely lacking. There is absolutely no communication or direction from the park workers. They drive by in golf carts and don't even wave or act happy to see a paying customer. If anything you feel like you are intruding, if you want to do anything you have to ask for assistance. Nothing is easily accessible. They have a bounce house which they will inflate upon request. They have mini golf to play upon request. They have a splash pad which they will open upon request. They have a drivable train which the kids can sit on but is dangerous to be near because children can easily access the brake and controls. But they don't offer any times for rides - even with having an Activities coordinator on staff. They have no planned activities for families. The big water slide was under maintenance our entire visit with no indication of when it would open. Talk about a big teaser for kids. They have pool chairs which you must go and get yourself if you want to sit near the pool and watch your kids swim. I'm sure this place is hopping busy during the summer, but we visited during their off season and found it extremely disappointing that there were no planned activities or ways to meet the other campers. What a missed opportunity.

We only stayed at this location for two nights off season for the water park. The customer service was fantastic and my kids all had a blast at the huge playground, basketball, and mini gulf. Our site was located under beautiful trees loaded with Spanish moss. The atmosphere was splendid and peaceful even with the close proximity to the highway. I highly recommend this campsite and I will most certainly visit again.

This place should just be shut down. First time there. Stayed three days and right away lady at front desk was rude. No pictures available online of the cabin that fits 25 people( First red flag). It was only 9 of us. Looks like a beat down school portable with an added shower to it. No counter space what so ever. Had to shower in the bath house, no lasting hot water(10 mins the most). Waterpark opens at till 11am(there goes half of your day). Save your money choose another place.

A family with two campers, 4 adults & 3 kids. Our third visit this one being the first since the name change. Same services, we noticed the putt putt had been upgraded plus a huge playground had been added. The grand babies enjoyed every minute of being there especially the train ride getting soaked. I laughed so much. The fellow campers & staff were involved in pulling out their water hoses to wet the train riders. One recommendation my husband had was take photos or a video of the train rides. We would have definitely purchased either one. The only thing that could have made our trip better was all of our children & grandchildren ti have been there. Maybe next time because we will surely be returning. Pool & lazy river was so relaxing.

Truly a great experience for the family! We took our 1 and 3 year old children and they loved everything about this place. The staff were kind and there was.aleays something to do. There is a schedule posted each day with activities like arts and crafts or rides on the train. It really felt like going to a theme park for a fraction of the price. Just a great experience all around.

Where to start...I agree with other reviews, this place has great potential; unfortunately it's far from what it could/should be, especially if paying the nightly rate. The Good:HUGE playground, big field to run around in. Mini golf, walking trails, frisbee golf. Jump pad, bounce house, volleyball court and some of the most beautiful trees we've ever seen. The Meh:This is a "pull-in site" campground. Sounds weirdly worded, but that's exactly what it is. Most of the sites appear to be for Class A's because of the fact that you are supposed to pull-in, facing whatever water structure you're near (fishing pond, retention pond, mosquito breeding pond). If you have an RV of any normal length, you may not be able to get your tow vehicle out because you'll run into said water feature. Some non-water front sites require all of your stuff in your site to be moved so the person in the site behind you can pull into your front yard to get their rig in. (Plus side- we met some great neighbors because of this). You can mention the size of your rig and the number of slides when you reserve, but it's solely to hear yourself talk, as they do not use that info to match your RV to an appropriate size site. If you "know how to drive and park a rig", you can surely fit in any of their sites, despite not being able to open slides because of trees. While they cannot control the weather (no argument there), they also cannot maintain or backfill sites so your RV stays level the whole time. The water went out ALOT during our stay. We get it, accidents/issues happen. It would be nice if they operated as a lot of other campgrounds and let the paying customers know when water would be turned off. Glad we were never one of the unfortunate stuck in the shower. The whole system needs an upgrade (per maintenance), but it's $10k on the low end, so...Glass shards CONSTANTLY at the dog park. They always showed up when staff backfilled low spots. The Ridiculous:How do you feel about electricity? Better yet, how do you feel about paying for a FHU 50 amp site and CONSTANTLY tripping your surge protector and/or inverter? (Like a 10-15 min cycle on/off). What about staff members that insist it is everyone else's equipment with the issue and not theirs? Maybe switching to 30 amp and running cords to the 20 amp will help... it won't. We were only able to run 1 AC in 90 degree heat, and it kept tripping for low voltage, then high voltage. Their solution? The only site they could offer us to move to was a site that had electrical issues that others were moved off of 🤦‍♀️ (or remove the EMS that was clearly protecting our rig from frying). The maintenance team is a joke. The guy that "was an ex cop", so he "knows how to not listen when people talk" will offer to "cut everyone else in the parks' power off, so you can have it all" and that pretty much sums up most of the staff's mantra for running the place. The long haired maintenance guy was a rockstar and acknowledged that the electrical is shoddy and that there are too many people on an outdated system (which is obvious, but he wasn't a jerk about acknowledging the obvious), but that there is nothing he can do to fix that, that falls on the owners putting money into the place instead of lipsticking a pig.The red haired lady in the office... what a treat. If you're looking to be berated for even the smallest question, check her out. They also do not remove anyone, despite their rules stating the opposite, for altercations/assault. Several incidents occured, kids were hit, personal property taken and inappropriate sexual comments were made regarding teenage girls. Violence was threatened to kids. The staff was informed. Police were called. The people involved were able to stay and enjoy their vacation.

Their rules are outrageous. We rented a golf cart and it was taken away from us. They didn't speak with us they just took it. They falsely accused us of going through ATV trails when we did not. They also did not refund us when they took it even though we did nothing wrong. The workers are also very rude when talking to us.Would not recommend to anyone.

This is our second time stopping here on our way home from Christmas in Louisiana. Again, this place is overrun by kids. We arrived at night and my kids start asking to go play with others running around the field. We pack up blankets and chairs for fireworks and head out to find a newly built huge playground where it was just a field before. My kids were in heaven. They always just ask to stop to see every playground on our routes. The firework show for New Years was incredible. We died laughing at our son that went to check out the snow and slipped into the mess. My only regret is we still haven’t had a chance to come visit in the summer.

If you want to be charged a lot of money to be stressed during your vacation, Ragans family campground is for you!We paid $522 for 4 nights, plus $65-70/night for golf carts.Water park advertised to be open. It’s not. They’re blaming the hurricane that happened LAST YEAR. See picture. We’ve been to many campgrounds, usually the general vibe is relaxing, staff are accommodating/welcoming and you simply have a great time. I’ve literally never had a bad experience at a campground anywhere else until now. We’ve been to south Florida, Georgia, Jacksonville and Gainesville. Always in the very least a worthwhile experience. Until now. There are rules upon rules. The weirdest rule is - You can’t use golf carts at night. But the staff can. Why?You can’t drive golf carts against the same direction as cars. But the staff are allowed. Why?16 year old licensed drivers can’t drive golf carts. On the check in paper it’s literally stated as 16 years old can drive but then it’s crossed out and 18 years old are written down. At least change your pamphlets, surely it’s not that steep of a business cost.My friend’s 16 year old daughter was yelled at by the staff for her first “infraction” due to driving a cart on day one. She has a driving permit. How about simply explaining the rule instead of raising your voice to a teen? No warning?Oh and the bathrooms smell like feces. It’s super obvious that any money that’s made does not get reinvested into to the campground. When it comes to making customers happy or relaxed, this is not the case with Ragans. Apparently they are undergoing new management which is clearly not going in the right direction.Fire ants at the spicket dump station. See picture.10. I repeat TEN, lounge chairs at the pool. There are about 200 spots for campers. I didn’t take a picture as people were at green/cloudy looking pool. Do the math. Ain’t enough. The bench at the volley ball court is dilapidated. My 14 year son who weighs 105lbs fell off because the boards weren’t nailed down securely. See picture.Overall a massive fail. We came because our friends had a good experience last year. Not sure what happened in such a short period of time, presumably due to new management but I guess these people generally don’t like to make their patrons happy. If you actually want to have a good time, go to Island Oaks, Hanna Park, Suwannee Music park, or Ginnie Springs. We will NEVER come back here.

Nice size cabins that are neat and clean but a little dated. Floor under the shower seems worn away. Afraid to stand in certain parts of the shower because I don't want it to give way. Everyone seems friendly and accommodating. Lots to do here and really convenient off of I-10.

Showed up at 4 pm. It was raining 100%. I told the employee that I was only riding golf car and motorcycle tomorrow. They insisted on charging me $25 for the rainy day the next day and check out day. They have more rules than when I camped at a military base. $$$ 300 per night. More expensive than Destin FL. What a scam!

Riverside state park dedicated to composer with a museum, camping, trails, craft square & gift shop.

Great park. Our first stay here was in 2020 right at the height of the pandemic. Our second stay was yesterday and unfortunately it was only an overnight stay. One day we will be back to enjoy the park for longer than a day. It’s clean and well kept and the sites a pretty big.

Very nice park. Wish the roads were a bit better and things were open to view and walk around. There is no one at the front gate, you just grab your sticky note and go to your site, so if you have any issues or questions no one is there. There is a camp host on site if you need wood or something. Dump station was better than most we’ve been to. Sites are nice and big but all sand (as is with most all Florida parks).

Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park is a true hidden treasure! This park is a perfect blend of nature and culture, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The park's lush greenery, beautiful Suwannee River, and gardens make it an ideal place for a relaxing day out. The carillon tower is a unique attraction.I am going back for Memorial Day Weekend because the park host The Folk Music Festival for those days and various events and festivals that celebrate the folk culture.I highly recommend Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park for a day of exploration, relaxation, and cultural appreciation. It's a true gem in Florida!

Yeah there's some trails, a playground and a place to launch kayaks. The river is a bit high and fast to kayak with children. There are a lot of things that are damaged and blocked off or taped off. The area to launch kayaks was not great, it's a pretty long way down stairs to get to the water, and the launch itself is concrete stairs going into the river. There are Christmas light displays left up around the park, apparently year round. The campground is clean, and the camp staff are friendly. There are volunteers who help kids do crafts. We saw dear, and apparently there are lots of gopher tortoises around to see. At a visitor center there are bags of things for kids to check out, including binoculars, a book of nature identification for Florida, and net to catch bugs and a little magnified container to put a bug in. The visitors center had one of those Elkay water bottle fillers, which are great. I just really wish the restroom buildings had them as well. There were decent restrooms with men's and women's and each also had two single / family occupancy, which are great if you need to bathe your small children. The park is pretty dog friendly, although you can't take your dog (pets) inside buildings. There are lots of great picnic areas even outside the campground area. There are beautiful pink flowers all over the place in the spring. The camp sites are spacious. There is only one 30 amp plug in for campers and two standard outlets like in your home that you could plug a coffee maker into with an extension cord for example, if you've ever had trouble with your camper pulling too much power from the 30 amp and tripping the breaker or blowing a fuse.

For a quiet park to camp or stay in a cabin. This is a great place. There are many areas for picnics, a good playground, clean bathrooms, access to the river and hiking trails, RV sites and camping sites.Outside of the gates you'll find the tiny town of White Springs, there are a few spots for essentials and groceries. There is also a canoe rental place in the town that allows you to go anywhere on the river & be returned to the site by a van ride. I loved this as within minutes we were back to the park.We saw many deer each day in the park and really enjoyed the quiet of the area. We walked the trails, enjoyed the river, explored the museums centered around composer Stephen Foster. The museums are free with admission and while dated, they house a great many pianos that I really enjoyed seeing. There is a good bit of information about the composer. One is a standalone colonial looking building, the other is at the base of the carillon which is being repaired so we did not hear it play.We drove through the RV & camping area which was very clean and quiet. We stayed in a cabin and absolutely loved it. A big wrap around porch, fire pit outside, picnic table. It was a great hub for our explorations of the area. For a day park visit, there is a nice playground for the younger ones, you can get down to the river to walk the shore. There are a great many hiking trails that we were interested in but ran out of time to see. There is an exhibitions area where we thoroughly enjoyed an in-depth look into blacksmith work. The artist created the works while sat and chatted. They answered questions and we got a full presentation in a very relaxed and real fashion. Loved that.A series of small buildings along a winding road allows for multiple types of exhibitions to be going on at any time. Check the site to see what is in town. I believe these are mainly for weekends. There is a large pavilion by the river that anyone can use and a canoe / kayak boat ramp that is still being worked on but looks near completion and should be ready for use soon. This park is also the site of music festivals, so check the calendar before you go, or you may find very large crowds. We hear they are very popular and fun. Looks like a great place to hear music and hang out. There was also a small gift shop that we did not get around to visiting. There was free Wi-Fi around this building which I am sure is helpful to some.Loved our visit. Will return.

We rented two cabins for a family gathering and it was wonderful! This the second time we have rented here. The cabins are great! There are wrap around porches, they are clean ans suitable for an active family. The kitchen has what you need including modern cooktops, a small microwave and a dishwasher. The cooktop controls are low so watch out for your little ones. You can get supplies in town, whatever you forgot. There is a code to get back in after hours. They have great activities at different times of year. These are generally weekends, as far as we could tell.We got firewood for the pit at the store which was really convenient. Our only disappointment was we hit the between time from converting the fireplaces from gas to electric, so we missed getting to use them.We had a great time, given the hiking trails, the river, historical museum and bell tower. We found out belatedly that dogs are ok at the campground but not the cabins. We were given grace this one time. It is not obvious in the written materials I read beforehand. That said, overall it is an awesome state park!

Intrigued by the charm of Florida's hidden gems, I embarked on a journey to uncover the mysteries lurking beneath the surface. My first stop: the enigmatic Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs. As I wandered through the park, the Spanish moss swayed in the breeze, casting mysterious shadows over the historic statues that dotted the landscape. But it wasn't just the beauty of the surroundings that captured my attention – it was the sense of history that seemed to linger in the air. The friendly woman at the Park Ranger ticket booth shared information about the park & surrounding area, hinting at the history deep within its depths. With caution, I ventured further into the park, mindful of the "beware of alligators" signs that served as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurked nearby. Yet, undeterred, I pressed on, drawn to the water's edge where the river hiking trail beckoned. As I walked, the lush foliage provided a canopy of shade overhead, shielding me from the scorching Florida sun. But amidst the tranquility, questions lingered in my mind: What secrets lay hidden within these ancient trees? What stories had they witnessed over the years?Lost in thought, I found myself pondering the mysteries of this secluded oasis. And as I continued my journey, I couldn't help but wonder: What happened here?

We camped here for 5 days, our site was big but it was overgrown and it needs a good cleaning, the picnic table was full of dirt, spiders and other bugs and be careful when opening the electrical box, there were several bugs nests and a couple of spiders, while it's a "wild" area, it would be nice if it was cleaned up a little better. Even though it was overgrown, there were openings between sites that take away some privacy. The site was pretty leveled, I only needed to level the passenger side a little bit. Overall I think the park was great and may come back but will try to choose a better site.Good hiking areas! Kayaking! We also visited the tower and the Craft Village.

We stayed here for two weeks in December 2022. It was central to a number of fresh water springs we wanted to see. It was a nice campground. It was quiet. There were good bathhouses with really hot hot water. (They are however not heated, not a big deal in Florida most of the time but we came during a particularly cold December 😁) There are washer and dryers at the bathhouses but about half of them were out of order when we visited. Also they kayak launch was closed off. The sites were nice and most provided a reasonable amount of privacy. There were woodpeckers and armadillos to see. Watch out for ticks here, we saw a few even in December. We didn't get to see the cultural center while we were there. The town is very small but they do have a nice Dollar General with Groceries if you forgot something. It is also close to interstate 75.

Crickets and minnows are sold at the old store.

Not as many vendors as FL Folk Festival 2023 & it's really hot this weekend. Positive is plenty of water refill jugs and fans here and there. We arrived for a one night stay in the campground about 3:30. We had a very hard time finding the “store” where we were to check in. The actual check in process was very easy and quick. We had just enough time to visit the Stephen Foster museum and while there were able to direct another lost camper to the check in building. Our campsite #44, is a pull through spot. Very secluded. The campground seems quiet, but we are here on a Monday for only 1 night. The restrooms are clean. Very clean!! The water pressure is good, more powerful than at home. There are 2 louvered screened openings for ventilation. I was afraid the room would be too cold but it was not. The outdoor temperature was 53°. There was a light and heat lamp in the shower area that warmed the bathroom well. Along with the hot water I was actually hot at the end of my shower.I wish we were staying longer on this trip. I definitely want to come back.

New camper check in procedures!Great park, this is my second visit here. They recently added new trails, but be aware that if you take the access roads, they may be very wet! The museum has trail maps, but I also suggest downloading the offline Google maps before you travel. I have Verizon and had no cell issues though. When I was here in 2021 the check-in was at the entrance. There is a new procedure for 2024.Drive in, go around the tower to the camp/craft store, park to the left in the back side of the museum, follow the signs for the craft store/firewood, and you tell them your spot and name. Too easy (if you know this, I did not, haha). If you enter the trail from the septic dump, it is dry and well marked, but if you are wanting to go for a mileage, watch your markers (trails are skinny, access roads are wide).Either commit to the whole trail, or turn back when you achieved 1/2 the distance of your journey. This will ensure you don't need access roads to return, because they may be wet (see pictures).People are very pleasant, I loved my last visit here, this visit was just as nice!Enjoy the blacksmith exhibit (also behind there you can access the trailhead), the river gazebo, and the canoe launch, just beautiful! Also if you geocach, there are a few here, just saying!!Enjoy!

The ranger station is never open and I found it difficult to communicate and get information even arriving during their operating hours. I actually didn't figure out the tag system until the next day when I walked back to the ranger station and finally saw the signs directing me to a paper tag stuck on an information board. Also, they had the canoe launch closed with warnings that the river was too high even though it was only at 62' and their own sign said it wasn't dangerous until 65'. And I still couldn't even find a ranger to ask about it. The only reason we chose this campground was to use our kayak. Very disappointed. Doubt we'll be back.
